Focusing on implementing environmental criteria in new rural construction, in recent times, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in Lang Son province have promoted the implementation of practical activities on environmental protection in residential areas, mobilizing the active participation of people in maintaining a green - clean - beautiful living environment.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tung - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province, in 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the province will continue to innovate and improve the quality of campaigns and patriotic emulation movements, expand and diversify forms of propaganda and mobilize people to raise awareness of environmental protection and respond to climate change. At the same time, organize activities in response to World Environment Day and the annual Environmental Action Month, and guide the Vietnam Fatherland Front of districts and cities to coordinate in implementation.
In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province continues to coordinate in building and maintaining the operation of environmental protection and climate change response models in residential areas. These include the self-managed residential area model "Environmental protection, natural disaster prevention and climate change response" in Khau Bao residential area (Tan Tri commune, Bac Son district); the model "Unity of Catholic and non-Catholic compatriots to compete in environmental protection associated with new rural construction in Bac Dong I village (Gia Cat commune, Cao Loc district); the model "Residential area limiting the use of disposable plastic products" in Cua Nam block (Chi Lang ward, Lang Son city), propagating people not to throw plastic bags into the river, destroying the landscape and polluting the environment...
In Lang Son city, in recent years, the City Front and wards, communes, member organizations, and the Front Working Committee in residential areas have coordinated to implement the construction of a cultural and civilized urban lifestyle in the area; propagate and mobilize people to raise awareness and responsibility, create habits in preserving and protecting the environment, handling and classifying household waste, and treating or discharging waste in the right place. At the same time, regularly maintain the organization of "Green Sunday", launch a general environmental cleaning campaign, clear sewers and ditches, build a "Green House" model with 146 houses collecting recycled waste, 369 inter-family environmental protection groups in residential areas...
Currently, in Quang Lac commune (Lang Son city), 9/9 villages and agencies, schools have actively contributed to building and managing the "Green House" model, with 15 "Green House" models built and maintained throughout the commune. Mr. Hoang Van Cuong - Party Cell Secretary, Head of Hoang Trung 1 village (Quang Lac commune) said that from the end of 2023 to now, people in the village have contributed money to build the "Green House" model to collect plastic bottles and recyclable waste. Depending on the volume of scrap, the village will classify recyclable waste for sale to raise funds to support and help families in difficult circumstances in the area. From the implementation of the model, the awareness and consciousness of people in the village about environmental protection have also been raised, thereby contributing to limiting plastic waste discharged into the environment.
It can be said that, with the joint efforts and consensus of the government and people of Lang Son city and the drastic participation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels of Lang Son province, patriotic emulation campaigns and movements have been and are being implemented with focus and key points, strongly arousing the creative spirit of the people to participate in building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, protecting the environment, responding to climate change, contributing to the successful implementation of socio-economic development tasks in the province, and consolidating the great national unity bloc.
