Digitizing data at the largest martyr cemetery in Hue

On July 27, the Information Technology Center of Thua Thien Hue province said that the unit has just coordinated to deploy the development of management software at Huong Dien Martyrs Cemetery.

Huong Dien Martyrs Cemetery (Phong An Commune, Phong Dien District) is the largest martyrs cemetery in Thua Thien Hue Province. This is the resting place of 3,623 martyrs, of which only about 1,000 graves have been identified.

For many years, Huong Dien Martyrs Cemetery has been a "red address" regularly visited by all levels, sectors, socio-political organizations, local people, pilgrims, and relatives of martyrs nationwide. However, up to now, information management at the cemetery has been done manually, without any synchronization.

Receiving the request from the Council of the Young Pioneers of Thua Thien Hue province, in the past 3 months, with the coordination of field information collection at the cemetery by the local union members, in conjunction with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (LĐTBXH) of Phong Dien district, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Branch of the Information Technology Center of Thua Thien Hue province has digitized data and used the Geographic Information System (GIS), ArcGIS digital map technology of Esri to put information, images and coordinates of martyrs' graves on the software system. At the same time, the software interface has been built and designed to fully meet the needs of management and promotion of information and images for activities at the cemetery.

In addition, the unit has also coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications of Thua Thien Hue province to issue the domain name of the Huong Dien Martyrs Cemetery Management Software at the address: http://ntlshuongdien.thuathienhue.gov.vn/. This domain name was officially put into operation on the occasion of the 77th Anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day.

According to the Information Technology Center of Thua Thien Hue province, through the application of GIS technology, relatives and visitors will find it easier to find information about martyrs. At the same time, it helps managers and professional departments easily monitor, update data, provide information and build timely professional reports.
