On April 6, a representative of the Organizing Committee of the Khanh Hoa People Speaking English Program said that the Tam Duc English Club for orphans and disabled children had just opened in Nha Trang City.
This is an activity within the framework of the Khanh Hoa People Speaking English Program which has been implemented for nearly 2 years.
The class has the participation of about 80 children in special circumstances, many of whom are orphans, abandoned children, children who lost their parents due to the COVID-19 pandemic, children with disabilities, autism, cerebral palsy, visual impairment, hearing impairment, etc.
Despite many disadvantages, the children still show a love of learning and English, thanks to the dedicated care of Ms. Nguyen Thi Duc (59 years old), who has been attached to the orphanage for many years.
The club will operate every Saturday morning, with teaching methods specially designed to suit each student.
Mr. Doan Van Tien, professional manager of the Khanh Hoa People Speaking English Program, said: “The lessons will be designed in the form of games to create excitement. For students with outstanding abilities, the program will have advanced learning content to further develop.”
One of the biggest challenges is the difference in cognitive level and English language ability among the children. However, the teaching staff and volunteers are always persistent and flexible in their teaching methods to ensure that no child is left behind.
The Khanh Hoa People Speak English program is currently entering the final months of phase 3, with the goal of building 250 English Clubs across the province, spread across 6 districts, towns and cities.
Previously in February 2025, hundreds of cyclo drivers in Nha Trang attended an English course to communicate well with foreign tourists.
Nha Trang Tourist Cyclo Union under Nha Trang City Labor Federation cooperated with the Organizing Committee of the Khanh Hoa People Speak English Program to open an English course for cyclo drivers.
