(Dan Tri) - Huang Ying (29 years old) is an inspirational figure to the Chinese media and public. Huang lost her eyesight at the age of 2 after a fever.

Despite her visual impairment, Huang always maintains a positive and optimistic attitude towards life. She can do almost everything by herself.

Huang’s social media posts about her studies and personal life have attracted a lot of attention from the online community. Huang has been seen as an inspirational figure since 2015, when she passed China’s highly competitive and stressful college entrance exams.

Huang was admitted to Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) and became the first blind student in China to be admitted to a prestigious university by taking the college entrance exam.

In China, blind students generally stop their studies after high school and go into vocational training. Huang Ying’s pursuit of education is a remarkable story.

Because of her good results in college, Huang Yi was able to go straight to a doctorate at Wuhan University of Technology without taking the entrance exam. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in educational management.

Huang Yi's dormitory life has also attracted much attention from the online community. Huang shares a room with female student Che Meng. Che has appeared in some of Huang's videos, and she said that she admires Huang's ability to handle himself in daily life.

"At first, I thought I would need to help Huang a lot when we lived together, but after observing her lifestyle, I realized that she could do almost everything by herself, even though she couldn't see," Che said.

Huang Ying said she felt lucky to be arranged to share a room with Che Meng. The two got along very well and always felt comfortable when together.

"Most people feel a bit shy and uncomfortable interacting with blind people, but Che is not like that. She is really happy and comfortable when she is with me. We can do everything together and hang out together happily. She does not see me as a blind person who needs help, but as a real friend," said Huang.

Che Meng's sincere feelings moved Huang Ying very much. For example, when spring came, Che invited Huang to go out for a bike ride. Che sat in front and pedaled hard so that Huang could sit behind and feel the warm spring breeze.

"She said she wanted me to feel the spring breeze to have a spirit as free, unrestrained and gentle as those breezes. I was very touched by Che's heart," Huang shared in a video.

On social media, Huang Ying shares content showing how she manages various tasks in her daily life, such as walking, crossing the street, shopping, putting on makeup, and even going to the doctor herself.

In some videos, Huang and Che bike, jog, and play the piano together. Huang said she actively uses social media to help the community better understand the lives of the blind and inspire people with disabilities to be strong in life.
