With the factory's annual raw material demand of about 132,000 tons, stemming from the task of forest management and protection and the requirements of customer partners, the company wants to develop an FSC certified raw area in Cam Lo district with an area of about 4,000 hectares. Currently, the unit has also signed a contract with the Center for Research and Resource Management to support the construction of FSC group certification dossiers linking businesses and forest owner groups.
During the process of implementing FSC certification, the company will cover all costs for technical training, support in building and reviewing documents to ensure eligibility for certification assessment; cover all costs for inviting international organizations to assess and issue certificates; develop a contract in principle between the company and households/household groups clearly showing the benefit mechanism between the two parties when achieving and maintaining certification; commit to purchasing wood from households/household groups with certificates at a price higher than the market price at the time of purchase or support seedlings for reforestation.
The leaders of Cam Lo district agreed with the plans and policies proposed by the National Timber Company Limited - Quang Tri Branch. At the same time, they directed relevant sectors, communes and towns to coordinate with enterprises to propagate and disseminate to forest owners participating in the association group to grant FSC forest certificates; guide and support enterprises and consulting units on legal processes and related procedures in the process of building certificates. Strive to issue certificates to participating forest owners by March 2025.
