Ms. Huynh Thi Mai Dung, wife of Mr. Nguyen Do Lang, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cotana Group Corporation (CSC) has just announced that she has sold 976,000 shares, out of a total of 1 million units registered from October 4 to November 2. The reason for not completing all transactions is due to unsuitable market conditions.

After the transaction, Ms. Dung still holds more than 4.15 million CSC shares, accounting for 13.31%.

On the market, CSC shares closed the trading session on November 7 at VND28,100/share. If temporarily calculated at this market price, Ms. Dung earned VND27.4 billion.

Previously, Ms. Dung also registered to sell 1 million shares from August 28 to September 26. However, Ms. Dung only sold 39,000 shares. The reason for not completing the transaction was due to unsuitable market conditions.

In the opposite direction, Asia Pacific Securities Corporation (APEC, code APS) registered to buy 2 million CSC shares. The transaction is expected to be carried out from October 11 to November 9, by negotiation and order matching.

In early October, the Board of Directors of APEC Securities approved the decision to invest in buying 2 million CSC shares. The purchase price is not higher than VND32,000/share. The investment period is expected to be in the fourth quarter of 2023, by order matching or negotiation on the stock exchange. It is expected that APEC can spend about VND64 billion to buy shares.

Mr. Nguyen Do Lang, Vice Chairman of Cotana Board of Directors, is also a member of APEC Securities Board of Directors. Mr. Lang holds 23,115 CSC shares, accounting for 0.07%.

On June 23, Nguyen Do Lang and three other defendants were prosecuted and detained by the police investigation agency for the crime of "stock market manipulation" occurring at Asia-Pacific Securities Corporation (APS), Asia-Pacific Investment Corporation (API) and IDJ Vietnam Investment Corporation (IDJ).

Investigation results determined that from May 4 to December 31, 2021, Nguyen Do Lang and Huynh Thi Mai Dung, and a number of other subjects, directed accomplices to use 40 securities accounts opened at APS to continuously buy and sell, creating fake supply and demand and new closing prices, pushing the stock prices of three codes API, APS, and IDJ to increase abnormally.

Market commentary: Yuanta Vietnam Securities believes that the market may continue to fluctuate around the 20-session moving average of the VN-Index in the next session. At the same time, the market shows signs of entering a short-term accumulation phase, so it may continue to move sideways around the current price range with low liquidity.

Currently, the VN-Index is facing a resistance zone of 1,083-1,100 points. In addition, the short-term sentiment indicator increased slightly, showing that investors are still not too excited about the current market developments.

According to Vietcombank Securities, VN-Index will likely continue to trade sideways and have bounces around the 1,080-1,090 point area in the coming sessions.

Investors should limit new purchases and temporarily observe the market's trading developments in the next few sessions. At the same time, they can take advantage of the bounces in the session to realize partial profits for stocks that have successfully bottomed out in previous sessions.
