Starting to be implemented in 2019, the OCOP Program of Phu Tho province has gradually spread, contributing positively to the economic restructuring in rural areas.

By the end of 2023, Phu Tho province will have 237 products certified with OCOP from 3 stars or higher, accounting for 85% of the food industry, initially helping to develop the socio-economy as well as build new rural areas in localities.
However, these OCOP products are mainly processed or simply processed. In addition, the packaging and design are still sketchy, not knowing how to tell the story of the product to show the difference, not exploring new trade channels, so creating low added value.
Most of the subjects produce on a small scale, developed from household farming, production still follows the small-scale farming ideology, not meeting the requirements of uniform quality and large, continuous quantity.
Some OCOP products after being recognized have not been effective because the subjects do not know how to promote or ensure the quality as good as the original, so it is difficult to retain customers. Some subjects do not see the meaning of participating in OCOP, so when the time comes for their products to be re-evaluated, they do not care or pay attention to making a profile.
In 2024, Phu Tho strives to have 80 more OCOP products with 3-star or higher rating, and develop 45-50 new potential entities to participate in the program. The province aims to build a production and consumption chain linking OCOP products to meet quantity requirements, ensure quality, and increase value.
