Why do businessmen write so much poetry?

Not only have many collections of literature and poetry been published, business authors have also been awarded many literary prizes, including the Vietnam Writers Association Award.

Why are there so many successful businessmen writing poetry recently and how does this affect literary life?

Tuoi Tre Online asked the question to critic Van Gia on the sidelines of the launch of the poetry collection Ban mai thom mat nang (The Writers Association Publishing House) by Vu Tran Anh Thu on March 23 in Hanoi.

The trend of writing poetry is developing.

When asked why literature has recently attracted so many entrepreneurs, Mr. Van Gia said it was a difficult question.

However, he also gave an answer: perhaps the most important reason is the need to express oneself, to express the time in which one lives through literature. "That is a common, healthy, legitimate need," said Mr. Van Gia.

Mr. Van Gia said he has an American writer friend. In his writing class, there are housewives, post office workers, bank employees, etc.

During the day they go to work, at night they learn to write. In Vietnam this is still a reserved practice, but Mr. Van Gia believes it will develop more and more. And he evaluates this trend as "only good".

Mr. Gia said there are businessmen who want to become professional writers. There are also people who come to literature very innocently, like Vu Tran Anh Thu, which is also very good.

Mr. Van Gia highly appreciates Vu Tran Anh Thu's innocent, pure, and loving poetic voice towards life and towards herself.

Morning sun fragrant eyes

Morning Fragrant Eyes Sunshine is the second collection of poems by Vu Tran Anh Thu written in the 1-2-3 verse form initiated by Phan Hoang (a short poem style with only 6 verses including the title, divided into three stanzas).

Dr. Nguyen Thi Tinh was impressed with Vu Tran Anh Thu's poetry because "her poetry has almost no sadness, only spreading joy, resonating joy. She has resisted the sentimental poetry that is often saturated in contemporary female poetry.

Literary critic Hoang Dang Khoa also agrees with this comment. He said that Vu Tran Anh Thu's poetry shook his long-held belief that poetry must reside in sadness to be good.

Hoang Dang Khoa said that Vu Tran Anh Thu's poetry also shook his second assumption. For a long time, he often chose free verse, and believed that only free verse could convey the poet's multifaceted and multi-faceted soul.

But Ban mai thom mat thom mat tho nang shows that the 1-2-3 poetic form is very suitable and compatible with Vu Tran Anh Thu's soul frequency.

At the poetry launch, readers enjoyed many songs set to poetry by Vu Tran Anh Thu, including the song Mother's Moon, which is probably the last song by musician Nguyen Thuy Kha.

Poet Do Anh Vu said that the first collection of poems, " Tieng Mua" by Vu Tran Anh Thu, has 15 poems set to music.
