Conflicts in some regions of the world disrupt supply chains, increase input material prices, directly affecting production and exports of many countries, including Vietnam.

Particularly in Yen Bai, in 2024, industrial production in the province was also affected by the world and domestic economy, the impact of natural disasters, the impact on industrial production activities, and export difficulties due to reduced demand, while production costs increased. However, the province's industrial production has had a positive recovery. The industrial production index in 2024 increased by 9.23% over the same period, exceeding the set plan.

Entering 2025, a year of special significance, a year of acceleration, breakthrough, reaching the finish line, the final year of implementing the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan for the period 2021-2025. Faced with the requirements, with the target of increasing industrial production by double digits, challenges have been posed. From the beginning of the year, many enterprises in the area have proactively started production, expanded their scale, as well as put more factories into operation; at the same time, the industry and trade sector has proactively grasped the situation, to promptly remove difficulties for enterprises; in order to effectively implement Action Program No. 246 of the Provincial Party Committee and Resolutions of the Provincial People's Council.

Right after the Lunar New Year holiday, most businesses in the province have started production with a spirit of enthusiastic work, determined to complete the targets and plans for the whole year 2025. Many businesses have expanded their scale to meet the increased orders. This is a positive signal, demonstrating the efforts of businesses to overcome difficulties in production and business.

For enterprises processing white marble for export in Luc Yen district, the production atmosphere has also become bustling again right after the Lunar New Year of At Ty; large enterprises with export market share such as RK Vietnam Marble Company Limited, or Viet Duc Metallurgy and Mining Joint Stock Company, are also starting production and completing new orders. For these enterprises, to get large orders and long-term customers, enterprises focus on improving product quality; diversifying designs, and proactively seeking markets, especially markets in China, the Middle East, and Europe.

Together with mining enterprises, Thac Ba Hydropower Joint Stock Company has also developed a production and business plan for the whole year 2025. This enterprise has put one unit into operation, and two units will continue to be repaired to generate electricity alternately in 2025, striving to produce over 370 million kWh of commercial electricity; at the same time, Thac Ba 2 Hydropower Plant will be connected to the national grid as soon as possible.

For the construction materials production sector, including cement products, businesses are also striving to grow by about 10%. For Yen Binh Cement Company, in 2025, it will overcome difficulties, implement many solutions, including improving production processes, and finding new markets for products. Accordingly, this year, this company is expected to produce about 1 million tons of cement for export to the market.

Enterprises in the Southern Industrial Park have also been striving to achieve the highest growth rate. Since the beginning of the year, enterprises have implemented synchronous solutions, from ensuring goods sources to organizing production and business activities. As an export wood processing enterprise, Thien An Vietnam Wood Industry Co., Ltd. has a scale of nearly 20,000m2, specializing in the production and trading of wooden flooring and kitchen cabinets; the main export markets are Europe and the US. In 2024, the Company will produce 40,000 cubic meters of wood panels and 600,000 sets of kitchen cabinets, increasing the Company's revenue and after-tax profit compared to the previous year. Employees at the Company have an income of about 10 million VND/month. In the 2025 Production Plan, the Company is determined to increase the output of wood panels by 20% and kitchen cabinet sets by 50% compared to the previous year. Currently, the company is also increasing production and preparing to put another flooring factory into operation, bringing the total to 3 factories in the Southern Industrial Park.

It is forecasted that in 2025, the province's enterprises will face many difficulties and challenges. However, with the bustling atmosphere and hustle and bustle of production and business of enterprises right from the first days of the new year, it will contribute to realizing the economic growth target of at least 8.2%.

With the efforts of enterprises and state management agencies, by the end of the first quarter of 2025, the growth of Yen Bai province's industry has achieved very impressive figures: industrial production, trade and services have maintained a fairly high growth rate, creating momentum to promote the province's economic growth and development. The industrial production index has developed stably, maintaining a fairly high growth rate. In the first quarter of 2025, the growth rate of the industrial and construction sector is estimated at 11.92%, ranking 6th out of 14 provinces in the region (of which industry is estimated at 13%). The industrial production index increased by 9.8% (the growth scenario for the first quarter of 2025 is 8.5%); The industrial production value is estimated at 4,460 billion VND, equal to 22.3% of the plan; equal to 105.2% compared to the growth scenario in the first quarter of 2025 and equal to 110.5% compared to the same period in 2024. With this momentum, in 2025, Yen Bai province will have many opportunities to realize the growth figure of 10.5%.
