The Veterans Association of Duy Xuyen district currently has 2,962 members, participating in activities in 16 association organizations. Identifying the work of building and protecting the Party as an extremely important political task, the association annually fully disseminates the Party's policies and resolutions to the association's grassroots and members; raises political awareness, steadfast stance, and fights against wrong viewpoints.
The District Veterans Association also deployed plans, programs, and content on learning and following Uncle Ho to all grassroots associations; thereby creating awareness and change in moral training, preserving lifestyle, and being exemplary in all local movements.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Ngoc - Chairman of the Association of War Veterans in Duy Xuyen district said that in 2024, the emulation movement "War Veterans help each other to do good business" continued to leave many impressions. Currently, the entire association has nearly 100% of members participating in revolving capital contribution in 243 groups, reaching an average of more than 750 thousand VND/member/month.
At the same time, the association stands as a credit guarantee with the Transaction Office of the Social Policy Bank of Duy Xuyen district, creating conditions for members to borrow more than 12 billion VND to invest in developing production and business, and building effective economic models.
Up to now, the association has 6 enterprises, 2 production cooperatives, 4 farms, and 27 households owned by War Veterans Association members, effectively creating jobs for more than 1,000 workers.
Mr. Ngoc said that, implementing the movement to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas, in 2024, cadres and members of the Veterans Association of Duy Xuyen district participated in 250 working days, voluntarily donated 5,000m2 of land, moved 1,600m of fences, gates and many items on the land to expand rural roads, intra-field traffic; build a village cultural house...
Carrying out the work of solidarity, the District Association mobilized agencies and units inside and outside the district to support the construction and repair of 4 solidarity houses for members and policy beneficiaries with a budget of more than 265 million VND.
“In addition, the grassroots associations sponsored 26 poor students who overcame difficulties, regularly supported 3 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, 4 member families, single-parent families with no support, and presented 875 gifts to members in difficulty worth 290 million VND…” - Mr. Ngoc said.
