TPO - The Prime Minister has just issued a Decision on converting the National Economics University into the National Economics University.
On November 15, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1386 on converting the National Economics University into the National Economics University.
National Economics University is a public service unit, a public higher education institution under the Ministry of Education and Training, with legal status, its own seal and account.
The University shall reorganize its organizational structure and operations on the basis of the National Economics University in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Higher Education and relevant legal provisions. The reorganization process must ensure the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the parties involved, operate normally, and prevent negativity, loss, and waste of finance and assets.

According to this Decision, the provisions of Decision No. 298 issued in 2024 by the Prime Minister on the list of public service units under the Ministry of Education and Training are amended from National Economics University to National Economics University.
The University Council, the Chairman of the University Council, and the Principal shall continue to perform their functions, duties, and powers in accordance with current regulations until the Ministry of Education and Training decides to establish the University Council, recognize the Chairman of the University Council, and recognize the Director of the National Economics University in accordance with the provisions of law.
Thus, Vietnam has universities: Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, National Economics University and Duy Tan University. Among these, Duy Tan University is the first non-public university in Vietnam.
In addition, Vietnam also has 2 National Universities and 3 regional universities: Thai Nguyen University, Hue University, and Da Nang University.
