According to statistics from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City, the school's revenue comes from two sources: tuition fees (675 billion VND) and legal income (840 billion VND). The school is autonomous, so tuition fees for each major range from 38.5 to 77 million VND/student/school year.

Meanwhile, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, revenue comes mainly from tuition fees.

Thus, synthesizing from the enrollment plan and the "three public" reports of universities to the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2023, there will be 12 higher education institutions with revenue of over 1,000 billion VND/year, including 8 public institutions and 4 private institutions.

Among the 10 educational institutions with revenue of thousands of billions, FPT University is at the top with 2,918 billion VND.

Next is Van Lang University with 2,286 trillion VND. Ranked third is Hanoi University of Science and Technology with 2,137 billion VND.

Compared to the 2022 revenue report, this list has many fluctuations in terms of quantity, revenue and ranking order.

Specifically, in 2022, FPT University ranked third with a revenue of less than 1,300 billion VND, but in 2023 it jumped to nearly 3,000 billion VND and topped the rankings.

Also rising strongly is Hanoi University of Science and Technology, ranking seventh in 2022 with revenue of VND 1,070 billion, rising to third in 2023 with revenue of VND 2,137 billion...

Notably, for the first time, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education and Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, although appearing on the list with revenue of over 1,000 billion VND for the first time, all ranked in impressive positions.

Revenue of higher education institutions comes from four sources, including: budget; tuition and fees; scientific research and technology transfer; other legal sources (training cooperation services, sponsorship from businesses, publishers, affiliated businesses...). Of which, tuition is the largest source of revenue for universities, especially non-public schools.
