Quang Ngai proposes to complete Dung Quat - Tri Binh intersection with expressway
Quang Ngai proposed the Ministry of Transport and the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises to direct investors to promptly construct and complete the Dung Quat - Tri Binh intersection and put it into operation.
Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien has just signed a document to send to the Ministry of Transport and the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises regarding the investment in completing the Dung Quat - Tri Binh intersection on the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway.
According to the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway has been opened to traffic and put into operation since 2018. However, up to now, the Dung Quat - Tri Binh intersection (Km101 + 740), due to some reasons, is still unfinished and has not been invested in and completed to connect with the Tri Binh - Dung Quat route (construction will be completed and opened to traffic in December 2023).
This has caused outrage among the people and voters of Quang Ngai province. Traffic cannot enter Dung Quat Economic Zone at this intersection, so the investment efficiency of the expressway project has not been maximized.
Therefore, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province recommends that the Ministry of Transport and the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises pay attention to and direct the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) to promptly complete investment and construction procedures (adjustment of investment policy, project adjustment, etc.) to submit to competent authorities for approval, promptly implement construction, complete the Dung Quat - Tri Binh intersection, and put it into operation.
The early completion of Dung Quat - Tri Binh intersection will create more favorable conditions for attracting investment, transporting goods, and business production of enterprises in the region and neighboring areas, for socio-economic development.
At the same time, maximize the investment efficiency of the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway, creating momentum and promoting the development of key economic regions in the Central region in particular and the whole country in general.
Previously, Dau Tu Newspaper reported that the Dung Quat – Tri Binh Interchange connecting Dung Quat Economic Zone with Da Nang – Quang Ngai Expressway has been under construction for many years, affecting investment attraction for Dung Quat Economic Zone.
The inability to connect the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway has caused traffic congestion, making it difficult for people and businesses to travel in the area and greatly affecting the opportunity to attract investment in Dung Quat Economic Zone, failing to promote the effectiveness of the projects.
Recently, at a working session with the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Ngai province on the intersection of Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway with Tri Binh - Dung Quat route on June 12, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) Dang Hoai Nam said that the main route has been completed, the remaining items according to the contract price (excluding price adjustment) are about 45.5 billion VND.
According to Mr. Dang Hoai Nam, to restart the project, including the construction of the remaining volumes of Dung Quat intersection, it will be necessary to carry out the processes and procedures to adjust the project investment policy, adjust the project; deploy the selection of a consulting unit to prepare estimates and bidding documents for the remaining volume of the bid packages, select a supervision consultant and construction contractor...
“In case the investment policy adjustment is approved by the end of 2024 and the project adjustment is completed in the first quarter of 2025, we will strive to complete the construction of Dung Quat intersection in 2025,” said Mr. Dang Hoai Nam.
