Mr. Tran Vu Tanh - Deputy Head of Que Son Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that in recent years, the locality has made efforts to deploy related tasks to effectively implement the One Commune One Product - OCOP program.
Accordingly, the People's Committee of Que Son district established an interdisciplinary working group to go to the grassroots to guide local authorities and entities to register products to participate in the OCOP program, perfect products; organize training courses related to the OCOP program for specialized staff at district and commune levels and product entities...
In the period of 2018 - 2023, Que Son district has spent more than 3.6 billion VND from the central and provincial budget to support the implementation of the OCOP program. In particular, most of the funding is prioritized to support entities investing in essential infrastructure; purchasing equipment and machinery for production; building product brands, etc.
By the end of 2023, Que Son had 21 products recognized by the Provincial and District People's Committees as meeting OCOP standards. Of these, 17 products were rated 3 stars and 4 products were rated 4 stars.
“In 2024, the People's Committee of Que Son district will continue to support 510 million VND so that entities can invest in developing 4 new OCOP products and participate in evaluating and reclassifying 2 OCOP products that have reached 3-star standards.
Through the initial assessment results, all 4 newly developed products this year meet the 3-star OCOP rating standards" - Mr. Tran Vu Tanh said.
In recent times, despite many difficulties, Hiep Duc mountainous district has actively supported the development of OCOP products.
Mr. Mai Thanh Son - Deputy Head of Hiep Duc Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that, implementing Resolution No. 07 (dated January 13, 2021) of the Provincial People's Council on mechanisms and policies to support the OCOP program, in the 3 years of 2021 - 2023, the locality has spent more than 1.1 billion VND to help enterprises, cooperatives, cooperative groups, and individual production and business households in the area build and develop 10 new 3-star OCOP products.
“The implementation of Resolution No. 07 of the Provincial People’s Council has created conditions for entities to grasp the mechanism and access funding sources to develop advantageous agricultural, non-agricultural and service products. Thereby, contributing to solving employment for local people, developing products to meet market demand…” - Mr. Son acknowledged.
Mr. Tran Van Noa - Head of the Quang Nam Rural Development Department said that in the period of 2018 - 2023, the Provincial People's Committee has allocated to sectors and localities more than 70.6 billion VND from the central and provincial budget to support the implementation of the OCOP program.
In 2024, the Provincial People's Committee will continue to allocate nearly 6.3 billion VND of provincial public investment capital and more than 5.2 billion VND of central budget capital to implement this program.
Positive Results
Mr. Tran Van Noa informed that by the end of 2023, in 18 districts, towns and cities of Quang Nam, there were 407 products recognized by the Provincial People's Committee and District People's Committees as meeting OCOP standards.
Of which, the food group has 302 products, the beverage group has 32 products, the medicinal herbs and medicinal products group has 24 products, the handicraft group has 47 products, the community tourism service group - eco-tourism and tourist attractions has 2 products. Of the 407 products that have achieved OCOP star rating, 61 products have achieved 4 stars and 346 products have achieved 3 stars.
The localities with the highest number of OCOP products recognized as meeting 3-4 star standards after more than 6 years of implementing the program are Tien Phuoc, Thang Binh, Dai Loc, and Tam Ky.
The program attracted 325 participants from different economic organizations, of which individual production and business households accounted for the majority with 164 participants (50%), cooperatives and cooperative groups accounted for 118 participants (36%), and enterprises accounted for 43 participants (14%).
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vu - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said: "The OCOP program has created motivation, helping producers to innovate their thinking in the agricultural and rural sector. Many products participating in this program, when recognized as achieving OCOP stars, are not only consumed locally but also attract consumers nationwide, and are widely distributed in supermarket chains and clean food stores, helping the rural economy to gradually develop."
Mr. Tran Van Noa - Head of the Department of Rural Development of Quang Nam said that in 2024, the whole province has more than 200 products registered to participate in the OCOP program, of which 70 products registered for re-recognition.
