Participating in the meeting, students were provided with basic knowledge about the situation and reality of natural disasters in the country in general and Can Tho City in particular; common and complicated types of natural disasters, negative impacts and impacts on children, such as traffic accidents, drowning, poisoning, burns, falls. They learned about the causes, consequences and measures to prevent, avoid and respond promptly to natural disasters... For the two types of traffic accidents and drowning accidents that occur frequently, the Center focuses on instructing students on the necessity of equipping them with basic swimming techniques; strictly complying with legal regulations when participating in road and waterway traffic, not being negligent, subjective, disregarding the lives of themselves and others; being calm, proactively handling unexpected and dangerous situations, ensuring safety when studying, playing...

In April 2025, the City Social Work Center coordinated with high schools to organize 9 thematic activities for students. This is an activity in the plan to develop a social work model in schools in 2025. Thereby, contributing to equipping children with knowledge and self-defense skills, helping them learn and develop in a safe and healthy environment. At the same time, enhancing the role and responsibility of schools, families and society in protecting, caring for and educating children in the new situation.
