On the morning of September 2, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Party Committee and Command of Military Region 7 held an inauguration ceremony for the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial.

Attending the inauguration ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense...

Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Commander of Military Region 7, said that this is one of the practical activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), and the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Military Region 7.

According to Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial is a cultural work of profound political, historical and humanistic significance, demonstrating the infinite respect and gratitude of the Party Committee Standing Committee, the Military Region Command, officers and soldiers of the Military Region's armed forces towards President Ho Chi Minh.

This is also a meaningful place for the Party Committee and the Military Region Command to organize important events and offer incense to report their achievements to Uncle Ho. Thereby, educating the tradition, patriotism, and orientation towards the Party and beloved Uncle Ho for all officers and soldiers of the Military Region's armed forces; contributing to promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style and building a clean and strong Military Region Party Committee, a comprehensively strong "Exemplary and typical" armed forces of the Military Region.

The Ho Chi Minh Memorial was built at the Military Region 7 Command Headquarters, with a total area of ​​2,150m2 . The statue of Uncle Ho is cast in pure red copper, 7.9m high; weighs nearly 15 tons; the pedestal of the statue is 4.6m high; the shape is 2.86m; the total height of the statue and the pedestal is 12.5m.

On the occasion of the inauguration of the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial, the Commander of Military Region 7 requested officers and soldiers of the Military Region's armed forces to continue to uphold and promote the glorious tradition of "Infinite loyalty, proactive creativity, self-reliance, solidarity and determination to win" and to constantly strive to rise up, achieve even greater achievements, worthy of the trust and love of the Party, State and people.
