Coach Erik ten Hag is looking for a new player to wear the number 9 shirt.

Mirror reported that PSG is waiting to sell Kylian Mbappe to MU as soon as billionaire Sheikh Jassim successfully buys the club from the Glazer family.

This source also emphasized that Real Madrid emerged as Mbappe's favorite destination last summer. At that time, PSG's big bosses were very angry that Real Madrid lured Mbappe and then publicly offered 200 million Euros, before the rich French team spent a lot of money to make their number one star "turn around".

However, now, Mbappe has clearly informed PSG that he will not activate the contract extension until 2025, meaning both sides only have one year left in the agreement.

This puts PSG in a position where they are forced to sell Mbappe, if they don't want to lose him for free next year, if they can't convince the French captain to change his mind.

MU coach Erik ten Hag is in urgent need of a number 9 for the new season. And Premier League fans will be extremely excited if Haaland plays Mbappe in the Manchester derby.

MU has difficulty finding new players

Although encouraged that the change of ownership of MU will not affect the club's summer transfer plans, coach Erik ten Hag still has a headache.

In addition to needing to "clean up" the current squad, the Dutch coach can only hope to bring in a quality number 9 suitable for the MU squad.

Athletic newspaper said that coach Erik ten Hag did not want to take any risks, meaning he wanted a striker who had already proven his worth, not someone who came to Old Trafford to gradually develop.

That is why the MU captain wanted Harry Kane, the top scorer in the Premier League. However, the Red Devils had to give up this target because Tottenham offered too high a price and Chairman Levy had no intention of negotiating.

Even with the target Rasmus Hojlund (Atalanta), MU is also facing difficulties when the Serie A representative demands a shocking fee of 100 million Euros, instead of about 60 million Euros as initially predicted. Not to mention, there is no guarantee that Hojlund can adapt to the Premier League.

In the MU list there are also Kolo Muani (Frankfurt) and Victor Osimhen (Napoli) but both also face price "obstacles".

MU has 100 million pounds for the summer transfer window of 2023

De Gea's future at Old Trafford is a big question mark after the Spanish goalkeeper was left out of MU's official list of players next season.

De Gea's contract renewal saga is taking a different turn, with multiple sources confirming that the club are not optimistic about the 32-year-old's prospects of remaining at Old Trafford.

Before the end of the 2022/23 season, MU tried to convince De Gea to cut his salary in half, down to nearly 200,000 pounds/week, but he still did not agree to sign.

The veteran goalkeeper is still hesitant for two reasons, coach Ten Hag does not guarantee the number one position in goal for De Gea.

In addition, he has also just received a contract offer of 20 million pounds/year from Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal Club.

Coach Ten Hag wants to recruit a quality goalkeeper with footwork ability like Andre Onana (Inter Milan), Diogo Costa (Porto) or David Raya (Brentford).

However, the obstacle for the Manchester team is the limited budget in the summer transfer window of 2023. They only plan to spend 15 million pounds on a new goalkeeper to compete with De Gea.

Meanwhile, the targets that the Dutch strategist desires all have prices ranging from 40 million pounds (David Raya) to 60 million pounds (Onana or Diogo Costa).

Due to Financial Fair Play rules, MU will only be given more than £100 million to buy players this summer. Coach Ten Hag wants to prioritize positions and strikers, with two specific targets being Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund.

To have more funds to buy, they are forced to sell surplus players such as Elanga, Dean Henderson, McTominay, Fred, Maguire, Eric Bailly, Alex Telles and Martial soon.
