On the morning of February 18, the Investigation Police Agency of Duc Tho District Police, Ha Tinh Province, announced the initiation of a criminal case and the temporary detention of Nguyen Tuan Thanh (born 2001, residing in Pho Chau town, Huong Son district) for the crime of resisting a person on official duty, as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 330 of the Penal Code.
Thanh was the one who drove his car straight into the police force, causing a police officer to suffer a head injury and had to be hospitalized for emergency treatment.
Accordingly, on the afternoon of February 15, the Traffic Safety Patrol Team of Duc Tho District Police, consisting of 3 officers, was on duty at Km372+500 of National Highway 15A.

At around 2:20 p.m. the same day, Mr. Tran Duc Thuan (a police officer of Duc Tho district) signaled for motorbike with license plate 38H1-268.10 to stop for inspection, but the young man did not comply and crashed straight into Mr. Thuan.
The head-on collision caused Mr. Thuan to fall onto the road, injuring his head and requiring emergency treatment at Nghe An 115 Hospital.
Duc Tho District Police are completing the file and handling Nguyen Tuan Thanh according to regulations.
In Binh Dinh, on February 12 (the third day of Tet), a 17-year-old man also recklessly drove a modified, unlicensed motorbike straight into a traffic police checkpoint on National Highway 1A, causing a traffic police officer to break his bones and be hospitalized for emergency treatment.
Specifically, on the morning of the same day (February 12), a working group of 9 officers and soldiers of Tuy Phuoc Traffic Police Station (Traffic Police Department of Binh Dinh province) was on duty on National Highway 1A, through My Trinh commune, Phu My district, Binh Dinh.
At 11:30, the task force discovered that TNHA was driving a Honda Winner motorbike without a license plate heading North-South, so they signaled him to stop for inspection. However, A. did not comply with the order, continued to accelerate and drove straight at high speed, hitting Captain Nguyen Dinh Long.
After the strong collision, Captain Long fell onto the road and was taken to Binh Dinh General Hospital for emergency treatment. At the hospital, X-ray results showed that Captain Long had a broken elbow and a broken fibula.
After the incident, the authorities detained TNHA to clarify the act of not obeying the order to stop the vehicle.
