35AWARDS awards a variety of categories, from aerial photography, daily life to landscapes or movement, wildlife. Each category selects the top winning photos and the overall winning photo. In addition, the contest also selects the top 100 best photos and awards voted by readers in each category.
As a result, in the aerial photography category announced in early May 2023, the 35AWARDS jury selected the top 5 best photos and the top 100 most impressive photos from thousands of entries. Notably, the photo by author Pham Huy Trung won the consolation prize, entered the top 5, capturing two whales hunting together in August 2022 in the De Gi - Vung Boi sea, a pristine destination in Cat Khanh commune, Phu Cat district, more than 40 km from Quy Nhon city.
"Binh Dinh's clean marine environment and many schools of baby fish and zooplankton are among the factors that attract whales to feed. The whales jump up to catch prey continuously, a rare sight that makes viewers surprised and excited," Trung shared with Thanh Nien.
Photographer Pham Huy Trung also has a work called Spring on the tea hill in the top 100 aerial photos, capturing the scene of Bat Nha monastery (Dam Bri, Bao Loc, Lam Dong) dyed yellow by Buddha's robe, another name for the yellow phoenix flower. The yellow color of the flower contrasts with the green background of the tea hill, creating a poetic scene.

The painting Mother Carrying a basket of sedge by Pham Chi Cong depicts a mother carrying a basket of sedge across a green sedge field in the Nga Son countryside, about 40 km from Thanh Hoa City. Nga Son sedge has long been famous for its small, tough, shiny and long fibers, a type of sedge used to weave beautiful and durable traditional mats.
