At the invitation of Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, on November 21, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation began an official visit to the Kingdom of Denmark.
At the Prime Minister's Office, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen welcomed Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and co-chaired talks between the high-ranking delegations of the two countries.
In a sincere, friendly and open atmosphere, the two leaders discussed cooperation orientations and measures to promote and further deepen the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Denmark.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen warmly welcomed Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on an official visit to the Kingdom of Denmark, demonstrating the importance the Vietnamese State attaches to the relationship between the two countries.
Affirming that the Danish Government attaches importance to the friendship, cooperation and comprehensive partnership with Vietnam - an important partner in implementing Denmark's foreign policy in the Asia-Pacific region, especially in trade and investment, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen wishes to further strengthen and promote bilateral relations in economy, environment - climate - energy, and green development.
The Danish Prime Minister believes that the newly established Green Strategic Partnership framework will create new momentum to effectively develop the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries, especially in the fields of sustainable development and green transformation.
Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan expressed her gratitude for the warm and sincere welcome that Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen gave to the delegation, affirming that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to strengthen the friendship and comprehensive partnership with Denmark. The Vice President believes that the visit will contribute to strengthening the comprehensive partnership and practically implementing the newly established Green Strategic Partnership framework, for the benefit of the people of the two countries.
On the basis of the substantive and effective development of bilateral relations in many areas such as politics - diplomacy, trade - investment, development cooperation, and strategic cooperation areas, in order to promote bilateral cooperation in the coming time, the Vice President and the Prime Minister of Denmark agreed to continue to increase the exchange of high-level delegations, coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums.
Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan thanked the Danish Government for supporting Vietnam in hosting the Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit in 2025.

Regarding trade and investment, the two leaders agreed that the Governments and ministries and sectors of the two countries need to encourage businesses of both sides to implement investment projects in areas where Danish businesses have strengths and are suitable for Vietnam's development orientation in the coming period, such as renewable energy, marine economy, food processing industry and green growth.
Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan suggested that the Danish Government should have a voice in urging the parliaments of the remaining EU member states to soon ratify the EVIPA, support the European Commission (EC) to soon remove the IUU “yellow card” for Vietnam’s seafood exports, and support Vietnam in developing aquaculture towards sustainable fisheries. The Danish Prime Minister affirmed that she is always interested in following this issue, and supports the EC and Vietnam in discussing the removal of the IUU “yellow card”.
The two leaders emphasized the need for the two sides to promptly implement the Joint Statement on establishing a Green Strategic Partnership, expand economic relations towards green growth, and strengthen cooperation on green transformation and climate change, in order to contribute to realizing the efforts of the two governments in implementing the commitments to reduce net zero emissions at the 26th Summit of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen affirmed that Denmark is ready to cooperate with Vietnam in the new field of green transition and equitable energy transition, especially in the field of renewable energy, where Denmark has rich experience and financial capacity.
Thanking Denmark for its important development assistance, helping Vietnam successfully achieve the United Nations' socio-economic development goals and sustainable development goals, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan emphasized that the two sides will continue to cooperate effectively in implementing projects in the fields of energy, sustainable development and vocational training, including the Vietnam-Denmark Energy Partnership Cooperation Program for the 2020-2025 period.
Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen highly appreciated the Vietnamese community's good integration into the socio-economic life in Denmark, making important contributions to promoting bilateral relations and agreed with the Vice President's proposal to continue to pay attention to and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Denmark, serving as a bridge for the friendly relations between the two countries.
Discussing regional and international issues of mutual concern, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan highly appreciated Denmark’s role and voice in the international arena. Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen also expressed her special impression of Vietnam’s strong commitments and role in multilateral forums, and expressed her desire to work with Vietnam to realize the UN’s sustainable development goals.
The two leaders reaffirmed the importance of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the world as well as peace, stability, safety, security and freedom of navigation in the East Sea, supporting international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan recalled that Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen will soon visit Vietnam at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Danish Prime Minister happily accepted.
