Kinhtedothi - On the morning of December 17, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong visited and congratulated Hung Hoa Diocese (Son Tay town, Hanoi) on the occasion of Christmas 2024 and preparing to welcome the New Year 2025.

Talking to Bishop Hoang Minh Tien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong said that in 2024, despite many difficulties and challenges, with the participation of the entire political system, Hanoi City basically completed the general goals of socio-economic development; it is expected that 23/24 targets will be completed as planned, of which 6 targets will exceed the plan. The total state budget revenue in the area is expected to reach 492,309 billion VND (120.5% of the estimate, up 19.6% compared to 2023); it is expected that in 2024, the total state budget revenue in the city will reach 500,000 billion VND.
Along with socio-economic development, the city always pays attention to social security work. Currently, 18/30 districts/towns of the city have no poor households; the number of near-poor households has also decreased sharply; next year, the city's poverty line will continue to be raised to a level higher than the national average. The city also focuses on digital transformation; promotes the development of cultural industries...
"The above successes and outstanding results of the City have the positive contributions of all classes of people, including the Catholic compatriots of the Capital who always accompany the common activities of the City as well as each locality" - the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized.
At the same time, on behalf of the city's leaders, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong congratulated the achievements and acknowledged the contributions of bishops, priests, monks and Catholics in Hung Hoa Diocese to the overall achievements of the city. The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized that the city's authorities at all levels always create favorable conditions for Catholics to practice healthy religious activities on the basis of complying with the regulations and laws of the State.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee also said that Son Tay town is a cultural area of the Doai region with many special historical relics, imbued with the traditional culture of the ancient Vietnamese people. Therefore, the City hopes that Bishop Hoang Minh Tien, in his position, will continue to care for, guide, and mobilize Catholics in the diocese to live a good life and practice his religion; join hands to preserve the traditional culture of the locality here; further promote the tradition of patriotism, solidarity, mutual love, and good implementation of the Law on Belief and Religion, continue to contribute to building the homeland and the country to be increasingly renewed, and build an increasingly strong national solidarity bloc...

Bishop Hoang Minh Tien said that Hung Hoa Diocese spans 10 northwestern provinces with more than 271,000 parishioners practicing religion. Over the years, priests, monks and parishioners of Hung Hoa Diocese have always accompanied all activities of the city, actively contributing to the local socio-economic development.
