The 9th meeting of the Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity in Dong Thap province

DTO - On March 20, comrade Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee on anti-corruption, waste and negativity chaired the 9th meeting to discuss and give opinions on the results of activities in the first quarter and directions and tasks for the second quarter of 2025; at the same time, give opinions on cases and incidents under monitoring and direction for handling.

Comrade Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee on anti-corruption, waste and negativity chaired the 9th meeting .

In the first quarter, the leadership and direction of implementing measures to prevent corruption and negativity continued to be well implemented, directing the supervision of asset and income declarations for party members who are cadres under the management of the Provincial Party Standing Committee in 2025, for 30 comrades; issuing supervision decisions (phase 1) for 16 comrades, verifying assets and income for 10 agencies, units and 31 individuals.

The Provincial Steering Committee has conducted supervision of 4 Party committees at all levels on leadership and direction of waste prevention and control in the management and use of public finance and assets and land management and use.

Implement the decision to supervise 1 party member; inspect when there are signs of violations against 1 party member regarding anti-waste and negative work; discipline 1 party member.

Conducted 53 inspections of 6 units, 99 organizations, 2,167 individuals, issued 26 inspection conclusions. The violations were mainly in the fields of finance, construction, and health. It was recommended to recover more than 96 million VND from the state budget, discipline 5 individuals, and review and draw lessons from 3 individuals.

The Provincial Steering Committee is monitoring and directing 2 cases and 5 incidents. Agencies and units have issued inspection conclusions on 1 case, prosecuted and tried 1 case, removed 1 case and 1 incident from monitoring and directed handling.

In the second quarter, the Provincial Steering Committee advised the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to propagate, concretize, deploy, and thoroughly and promptly implement the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws on anti-corruption, waste, and negativity, focusing on anti-waste; direct and focus on monitoring, urging, and implementing power control, anti-corruption, and negativity in the work of streamlining the political system's apparatus to operate effectively and efficiently; prevent and combat the practice of buying and selling positions and power in the arrangement, assignment, and consolidation of personnel work; speed up the declaration of assets and income for cadres under the management of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee.

The Provincial Steering Committee continues to direct relevant agencies to speed up the handling of cases and incidents under the monitoring and direction of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee; develop criteria to identify projects with slow progress, long-term backlog, and low efficiency to be included in the monitoring and direction of the Provincial Steering Committee.
