- Reporter: How do you evaluate the role of PN Long An in the socio-economic development of the province in recent times?

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Tham: In addition to the role of wife and mother in the family, women also actively participate and play a very important role in the socio-economic development of the province. Women in Long An are highly appreciated in the overall development of the province in all aspects, socio-economic, scientific research, national defense - security, ... That is shown through the team of female cadres in agencies, female leaders in the political system; female workers, female teachers, doctors, businesswomen, small traders, ... Especially, the majority of women who silently contribute to the overall development are those who do housework and housework. They silently sacrifice for their family members to go to work to achieve success. That special contribution should be considered a resource for development.

The Women's Union at all levels has promoted propaganda and mobilized 100% of its cadres and members to carry out the campaign " Building a family of 5 no's and 3 clean's, contributing to fostering Vietnamese family values", associated with building new rural areas and civilized urban areas in the locality; continuing to launch movements for women to help each other develop the economy, support women in difficult circumstances, provide means of livelihood, create conditions for poor women to borrow capital, etc.

- Reporter: Despite having advantages and conditions for development, PN still faces many barriers to affirming its role and position. What do you think about this issue?

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Tham: Gender prejudice, gender inequality, and gender health are still the basic barriers that Vietnamese women face. The Party and the State always have policies and guidelines to create favorable conditions for the Women's Union at all levels in the province to perform well their roles, functions, and tasks, and create conditions for women of all walks of life to have many opportunities to develop in all aspects and participate in the country's socio-economic development. These are Resolution No. 11-NQ/TW of the Politburo on women's work in the period of accelerating industrialization and modernization of the country ; Directive No. 21-NQ/TW of the Politburo on promoting women's work in the new situation; Decree No. 56-NQ/TW of the Government stipulates the responsibilities of ministries, branches, and People's Committees at all levels in ensuring that the Vietnam Women's Union at all levels participates in state management,... Recently, the Provincial Party Committee also issued Resolution No. 111-NQ/TU on focusing on building and developing female cadres at all levels in the province for the period 2025-2030.

Not only that, the movements and campaigns of the Association help women gradually affirm their role and position in the family and society. In addition to the attention of all levels and sectors, women strive to improve themselves. - Reporter: As an organization representing women, what actions have the Women's Union at all levels in the province taken and will take to contribute to protecting women, vulnerable children, and promoting gender equality, madam?

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Tham: The emulation movement "Building Long An women with confidence, self-respect, and aspiration to rise up"; the campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's to contribute to fostering Vietnamese family values" are 2 core contents, reaching all women in all fields. For the Association, we focus on activities to support and promote women in doing family economics, starting businesses, improving skills; at the same time, organizing classes to equip women with skills in child care and elderly care in the 4.0 technology era. At the same time, many activities to protect the environment, social security, order, social safety, etc. all respect and promote the role of women.

In addition, many models and methods are contributing to protecting children, women, and gender equality, which are being organized regularly and continuously in residential areas, with awards for outstanding women's associations, building and donating shelters, activities to care for and support children, especially the Godmother program, the Parents' Club with children aged 0-8, etc.

The Women's Union at all levels continues to accompany and support women in economic development to escape poverty sustainably , especially paying attention to women with disabilities in difficult circumstances so that they can rise up and affirm their role and position in society, thereby promoting gender equality. On the other hand, the Union also focuses on providing and improving legal knowledge, health care and family for women; at the same time, increasing awareness of the situation at the grassroots level to provide timely support to disadvantaged women and children.
