Gia Nghia City held a meeting to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Militia and Self-Defense Force's Traditional Day.

Leaders of the Provincial Military Command; leaders of Gia Nghia City; leaders and commanders of the city's militia and self-defense forces through the periods attended the ceremony.

At the meeting, delegates reviewed the 90-year journey of formation, construction and growth of the Vietnam militia and self-defense force in general and Gia Nghia City in particular.

The meeting opened with a welcoming performance with special performances praising President Ho Chi Minh, the glorious Party and the heroic tradition of the People's Army.

Over the past time, with the motto "strong and widespread", the Gia Nghia City Militia and Self-Defense Force has always been united and loyal to the Fatherland, the People and the revolutionary cause of the Party.

Up to now, the city's militia force has been built to ensure targets according to resolutions and plans, with correct and sufficient components according to the 2019 Militia and Self-Defense Law. The percentage of party members is 24.2%.

Every year, the rate of military personnel participating in training reaches over 95%. The city's militia and self-defense force organizes hundreds of propaganda campaigns to mobilize people to strictly implement the Party's policies and the State's laws. More than 1,000 officers and soldiers coordinate with the forest rangers to patrol and protect forests and prevent forest fires.

More than 2,000 officers and soldiers of the city's militia and self-defense forces coordinated with the police force to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, search and rescue.

Delegates listened to songs praising the great President Ho Chi Minh, expressing their love and deep gratitude to the beloved leader of the nation.

On this occasion, Gia Nghia City People's Committee awarded 3 collectives and 8 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Army, contributing to building and firmly protecting the Fatherland.
