On August 23, information from the Hanoi Market Management Department said that, continuing to implement Plan No. 19/KH-QLTTHN on market inspection and control, ensuring food safety for the Mid-Autumn Festival in Hanoi in 2024, on August 22, 2024, Market Management Team No. 11 coordinated with the Ha Dong District Police to inspect a food business location (address at No. 47, Lane 10, Nguyen Van Loc Street, Mo Lao Ward, Ha Dong, Hanoi).
During the inspection, the Inspection Team discovered 1,408 moon cakes and 1,210 packs of cigarettes (1 pack = 20 cigarettes). All of the moon cakes and cigarettes were produced abroad, without invoices or documents proving the legal origin of the goods.
Market Management Team No. 11 then temporarily detained all of the above goods for further handling according to the provisions of law.
Previously, on August 20, Market Management Team No. 5 (Hanoi Market Management Department) inspected a business store at 338 Tran Khat Chan (Hai Ba Trung District) and discovered 2,496 imported moon cakes. At the time of inspection, the owner of the shipment could not present invoices or documents proving the legality of the goods.
Or on August 16, at Lane 7, Tay Ket Street (Hai Ba Trung), Market Management Team No. 5 also discovered and seized 900 moon cakes without invoices or documents proving their legality.
Implementing the plan to inspect and control the market, ensuring food safety during the Mid-Autumn Festival in Ba Dinh district, the interdisciplinary inspection team of Steering Committee 389 of Ba Dinh district also inspected moon cake production and trading establishments in the district and discovered a large amount of smuggled products.
Accordingly, on August 7, the interdisciplinary inspection team inspected the grocery business at 4 Dang Dung, Truc Bach (Ba Dinh, Hanoi). At the time of inspection, the inspection team discovered that the business was selling 400 moon cakes, 50gr/piece, manufactured abroad, without invoices or documents proving their origin, and of unknown quality.
One day earlier, the interdisciplinary inspection team inspected the grocery business at 115 Tan Ap, Phuc Xa (Ba Dinh, Hanoi).
At the time of inspection, the Inspection Team discovered that the facility was trading in 321 types of cakes and candies (including 175 types of baked goods). All of these goods were manufactured abroad, without invoices or documents proving their origin, and of unknown quality.
The goods with signs of violations in both cases above were temporarily detained by the Inspection Team for handling according to regulations.
