A series of drugs produced in Germany circulating on the market were found to be counterfeit.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam has not issued any drug circulation registration certificate to Rotex Vietnam Company Limited and has not issued any drug circulation registration certificate for tablet and capsule products manufactured by Rotexmedica GmbH Company.

On July 14, the Drug Administration of Vietnam, Ministry of Health sent an official dispatch to the Department of Health of provinces and cities regarding the discovery of some counterfeit drugs on the market.

Authorities have discovered a number of counterfeit drugs including tablets named: Cefuroxim 500mg, Cefodoxim 200mg, Cefixin 200mg, Cefixim 100mg, Esomeprazole 40mg, Fluconazole 150mg with labels manufactured by Rotexmedica GmbH (address at Bunsenstrasse 4 - D - 22946 Trittau, Germany) and imported by Rotex Vietnam Company Limited.

Through review, there is no Rotex Vietnam Company Limited with a registered business address at No. 22 LK 07 Hung Vuong Urban Area, Phuc Yen City, Vinh Phuc Province.

Authorities have discovered many fake drugs on the market.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam also confirmed that it has not issued any drug circulation registration certificate to Rotex Vietnam Company Limited and has not issued any drug circulation registration certificate for the tablets and capsules manufactured by Rotexmedica GmbH Company. All tablets and capsules with labels manufactured by Rotexmedica GmbH Company and drugs imported and distributed by Rotex Vietnam Company Limited on the market are counterfeit drugs with the manufacturer's labels.

To ensure safety for users, the Drug Administration of Vietnam requests the Department of Health of provinces and cities to notify drug trading and usage establishments not to trade, distribute and use tablets and capsules labeled by Rotexmedica GmbH and drugs imported and distributed by Rotex Vietnam Co., Ltd.

At the same time, strengthen the inspection of business activities of pharmaceutical establishments in the area, focusing on inspection of products with information as described above.
