On June 23, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province announced that Chairman of the People's Committee Vo Van Hung has just launched a peak period to speed up the implementation of key projects in the province.

According to the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, 2024 is an acceleration year, of special importance in implementing the goals and targets of the 5-year socio-economic development plan and the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025.

In the context of many forecast difficulties and challenges, accelerating the implementation of key projects and developing infrastructure will contribute to rapid and sustainable socio-economic development; at the same time, practically welcoming the province's important political events, especially the 2024 Peace Festival, the Conference to announce the planning of Quang Tri province for the period 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050 and the groundbreaking ceremony of Quang Tri Airport Project (July 6).

On that basis, Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung launched a peak period to accelerate the construction progress of key projects until the end of September 2024.

Accordingly, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province requested the Department of Transport and the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board to focus on doing a good job of preparation, completing investment procedures, and being ready to implement projects when meeting the conditions prescribed by law.

Assign unit leaders to be directly in charge of each specific project and assign civil servants and public employees to closely monitor the progress of project implementation; review the overall and detailed progress and implementation plan of each construction item and each specific bid package, including unfavorable situations of natural disasters, storms and floods; at the same time, organize regular meetings with relevant units to promptly grasp the actual situation, have a plan to direct the organization of construction and disbursement according to the assigned capital plan.

Strengthening the inspection and supervision of the site, urging investors and contractors to take advantage of favorable weather, concentrating human resources, vehicles, equipment, and "working overtime" to speed up construction progress, while coordinating and working with localities and related units to jointly remove difficulties and obstacles, especially in site clearance, construction of resettlement areas to serve site clearance and ensuring foundation materials for key projects.

For the My Thuy Port Area project, the Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee directed the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board to assign staff to regularly monitor the construction progress to urge and direct My Thuy International Port Joint Stock Company (MTIP) to mobilize vehicles, equipment, human resources, materials, and take advantage of favorable weather to focus on accelerating the construction of the main items including: The southern breakwater must be completed before September 30, 2024; organize the construction of wharf No. 01 before June 30, 2024. Report the implementation results weekly to the Steering Committee for the implementation of the My Thuy Port project to grasp the situation in order to focus on urging and directing decisively.

Assign the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board to coordinate with Hai Lang District People's Committee to focus on completing the site clearance work for the remaining area of ​​phase 1 of the project (8.18 hectares) according to the set plan.

For the Quang Tri Industrial Park project, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board to direct Quang Tri Development Joint Venture Company Limited (QTIP) to concentrate means and equipment to speed up the progress of leveling the ground to ensure the construction site for the wastewater treatment plant in August 2024 and build the first phase of infrastructure to ensure conditions to attract secondary investors in November 2024.

In addition, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province Vo Van Hung also directed the Chairmen of the People's Committees of the districts: Hai Lang, Trieu Phong, Gio Linh, Vinh Linh, Cam Lo and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Ha city to continue to promote the role and responsibility of the heads of agencies and units to mobilize the entire political system to accelerate the progress and complete the site clearance of important national projects and key projects of the province according to the set plan.

Urgently urge and direct the completion of investment procedures and construction of resettlement areas to promptly relocate people and serve site clearance work.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to be responsible for monitoring, urging, inspecting and guiding investors and relevant units to accelerate the progress of implementation and disbursement of public investment capital; organize monthly meetings on the disbursement of public investment capital plans to promptly report to competent authorities to direct the removal of difficulties and obstacles.

Currently, Quang Tri is implementing many key projects such as: My Thuy Port Area (14,234 billion VND), Quang Tri Industrial Park (2,074 billion VND), Hai Lang LNG Project (54,000 billion VND), Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway passing through the province (9,919.78 billion VND), coastal road connecting the East-West corridor (2,060 billion VND)... The projects are expected to create momentum and bring about a breakthrough in economic development for Quang Tri province. However, currently, most of these projects are facing problems with site clearance, affecting the progress of implementation.
