On the morning of April 12, at Bac Lieu University, the Provincial Red Cross Society (CRS) and the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee organized a training course on initial first aid skills (FACS) for teenagers and volunteers working to ensure traffic order and safety in the area.
Speaking at the training course, comrade Phan Bach Dang - Chief of Office of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, said: In Bac Lieu, in the first 3 months of 2025, there were 40 traffic accidents (TNGT) occurring, killing 18 people and injuring 31 people. One of the major causes of casualties in traffic accidents is due to improper SCC of victims. Equipping SCC knowledge and skills for teenagers and volunteers working to ensure traffic order and safety will contribute to reducing the number of deaths and limiting injuries caused by traffic accidents.
Before starting the course, the Provincial Red Cross Association conducted a survey on the trainees’ knowledge of SCC using questionnaires. After that, the youth and volunteers were instructed on the following contents: emergency victim movement techniques and safe victim transport; first aid for unconsciousness and bleeding; first aid for soft tissue injuries, etc.
Provincial Red Cross staff instruct and demonstrate first aid techniques for unconsciousness.
The class took place over 3 days (April 12, 19 and 20) with the participation of 120 youth and volunteers from Bac Lieu College of Economics and Technology and Bac Lieu University. On this occasion, the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police and the Head Honda Thanh My System sponsored 200 helmets for the Bac Lieu Provincial Youth Union.
