Truck crashes into motorbike, 2 students die

Lam Dong: A truck running on Huynh Tan Phat Street, Da Lat City suddenly hit a motorbike in front, killing two male students on the afternoon of August 12.

At nearly 2 p.m., driver Bui Van Long, 26 years old, was driving a truck on Huynh Tan Phat Street, heading from Trai Mat (Ward 11, Da Lat City) to Nha Trang City. When passing through Ward 12, Da Lat City, the truck suddenly hit a 7-seat car and a motorbike running in front.

The collision caused Do Khac Chien, residing in Thanh Hoa, and Tran Thanh Tai, from Ba Ria - Vung Tau (both 20 years old, students of the Faculty of Education, Da Lat University) riding the motorbike to die on the spot.

At the scene, the two young men's motorbike was badly damaged, and the passenger car had minor damage in the back. The truck continued to run for a while after the accident, then hit a hillside and overturned on the sidewalk, about 100 meters from the collision site.

A roadside camera showed that the truck was traveling at a very high speed before the collision. According to authorities, the initial cause was determined to be the truck driver's inattention, causing him to lose control.
