According to Tien Phong, the main cause of the traffic jam is the construction of an overpass on the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway across Hoang Van Thai street, affecting traffic on this route.

Mr. Nguyen Hoa, a resident who travels through this section of road, said that heavy rains over the past few days have made this section of road muddy, partly due to the large volume of traffic making travel very difficult. “Every day, thousands of vehicles travel on this route, causing congestion, especially in the evening. Trucks, large and small, take up the entire road, causing danger and hindering travel,” Mr. Hoa shared.

The Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway project started construction in August 2023 with a total length of 11.5 km, expected to be completed in 2025. This expressway will have its starting point adjacent to the Hoa Lien intersection (part of the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway section), and its end point adjacent to the Tuy Loan intersection connecting to the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway.

In phase 1, the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway will have 4 lanes, a 22 m wide roadbed. The completed phase will be upgraded to 6 lanes with a 29 m wide roadbed. The project has a total investment of more than 2,100 billion VND, of which the cost of compensation for site clearance and resettlement is 951 billion VND.
