On November 12, US President-elect Donald Trump said that billionaire Elon Musk and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy “will pave the way for my administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, cut redundant regulations, cut wasteful spending and restructure federal agencies.”
According to Mr. Trump, the US Government Efficiency Department will conduct "a comprehensive financial and performance audit of the entire federal government, as well as make strong reform recommendations."

Mr Ramaswamy is a wealthy biotech entrepreneur. He told ABC earlier this week that he was having “high-impact discussions ” about possible roles in President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet.
He also has no government experience, but has pushed for cost cuts in the corporate sector.
Meanwhile, billionaire Elon Musk told reporters last month that he would aim to cut government spending by $2 trillion. In fact, experts say that cost reduction could lead to deregulation and policy changes that would directly impact Musk’s universe of companies, particularly Tesla, SpaceX, X, and Neuralink.
In a new development, US President-elect Donald Trump also nominated Fox News host and former National Guardsman Pete Hegseth as the next US Secretary of Defense.
According to Mr. Trump, the nominated US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has spent almost his entire life in the National Guard and the US, and described the Fox News host as tough, smart and believes in the goal of America first.
