In the first month since US President Donald Trump returned to the White House, there have been many changes both domestically and internationally.

More than 100 executive actions, including executive orders, proclamations and presidential memoranda, have been taken by the president in just one month. AP cited information from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) saying that tens of thousands of federal employees were directly affected by the decision to lay off or resolve the furlough system. The restructuring and staff reduction also took place in many US departments, including the Department of State, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Homeland Security, etc.

In addition, President Trump expressed his intention to close the Department of Education, according to Reuters. All prosecutors under his predecessor Joe Biden were also fired. The Pentagon's budget was requested to be cut by about 8%, according to Reuters. Mr. Trump's agenda also focused on cutting foreign aid, streamlining almost the entire US Agency for International Development (USAID). Mr. Trump signed an executive order to withdraw the US from the Paris Agreement on climate change, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the UN Human Rights Council.

Regarding tariffs, President Trump signed an executive order on February 1 imposing a 25% tariff on goods imported from Canada and Mexico and a 10% tariff on goods imported from China. Two days later, the import tariffs on Mexico and Canada were suspended, but the tariffs on China continued, leading to Beijing imposing retaliatory tariffs of 10-15%.

Trump then announced a 25% tariff on all aluminum and steel imported into the US, as well as plans to use reciprocal tariffs and deal with non-tariff barriers such as value-added tax, government subsidies, and exchange rate policies. Most recently, the US leader announced a 25% tariff on imported cars, pharmaceuticals, and chips, which will be implemented next month.

The European Union (EU) has said it will respond strongly and quickly to protect the bloc's interests if Washington imposes tariffs on EU goods. However, Europe is also ready to negotiate with the US to find a common solution. Foreign policy on Ukraine and Gaza has also changed significantly compared to the previous US administration.
