According to Wccftech , the leaked information posted on a forum for Nvidia GPU partners in China said that Nvidia will introduce three GPU models of the RTX 4070 Super series on January 8, just one day before the opening of CES 2024. After the introduction, Nvidia will provide the new GPU line to its partners, with the first product on shelves on January 17, followed by the RTX 4070 Ti Super on January 24 and RTX 4080 Super on January 31.
The RTX 4070 Super series promises improved performance over its predecessor
Nvidia's new GPUs are expected to offer only modest performance gains over their predecessors, with the 4070 variants being a bigger upgrade than the 4080 as they are more accessible to most people due to their lower price and adequate resolution.
As for the upgrades in the new Super GPU line, early reports said Nvidia would bring a VRAM upgrade to 20GB on the RTX 4080 Super, but that's still a big question mark. Meanwhile, the RTX 4070 Ti Super is expected to bring a VRAM upgrade from 12GB on the current card to 16GB, which should make many gamers happy. It also brings a much-needed increase in the memory bus, from 192-bit to 256-bit.
The RTX 4070 Super still has 12GB of VRAM but gets a bump in CUDA cores, from 5,888 to 7,168. Additionally, the card is rumored to use a new 12VHPWR connector - a big change since the current version uses the older 8-pin connector. The increase in CUDA cores will also require a 20W increase in TDP, bringing the total to 220W.
The success of these cards will depend on their price. With the exception of the RTX 4090, the other members of the current RTX 40 GPU series are not very impressive in terms of power and performance, but are sold at high prices that make gamers feel disappointed.
