Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Luong Quoc Doan - Head of the Steering Committee of the 2024 Vietnamese Farmers' Pride Program, has just signed a decision to award titles to 63 outstanding Vietnamese Farmers in 2024.
Accordingly, 63 outstanding Vietnamese farmers in 2024 are divided into 4 groups and fields including agricultural production, business and services; achievements in the new rural construction movement; achievements in the national security protection movement and initiatives and inventions in agricultural production.
Among the 63 Outstanding Vietnamese Farmers in 2024, many farmers have actively linked production, developed production, and accumulated production land according to the value chain, bringing high economic efficiency.
The outstanding Vietnamese farmer with the highest revenue of 95 billion VND/year comes from Hai Duong. The outstanding Vietnamese farmer with the highest profit of 20 billion VND/year comes from Ben Tre.
Notably, among the 63 outstanding Vietnamese Farmers this year, there are 4 rice farmers in the Mekong Delta who became outstanding farmers.
Specifically, farmer Nguyen Thanh Tuan in Kien Giang grows more than 500 hectares of rice, bringing in an economic efficiency of 29 billion VND/year, after deducting expenses, the profit is 14 billion VND/year. In addition to growing rice, Mr. Tuan also trades in supplies and services for plows and mowers with a profit of nearly 2.2 billion VND/year.
Farmer Le Thanh Long in An Giang grows 80 hectares of rice, with a revenue of over 8.9 billion VND/year and a profit of over 4.8 billion VND/year.
Farmer Ho Ba Phieu in Can Tho grows 12 hectares of high-quality rice such as OM5451, OM18, Jasmine 85 with a revenue of more than 4.4 billion VND, minus expenses, a profit of 2.6 billion VND. In addition, Mr. Phieu also processes, packages and provides rice seed services for a revenue (in 2023 and 2024) of 28.2 billion VND, minus expenses, a profit of 5.2 billion VND.
Farmer Tram Minh Thuan in Tra Vinh (director of Long Hiep Organic Agricultural Cooperative) grows about 220 hectares of organic rice and high-quality varieties such as ST25... Mr. Thuan also trades in input materials and consumes rice from local people... Total revenue in the period 2019-2024 reached 33 billion VND, profit 4.9 billion VND.
Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Bui Thi Thom said that many outstanding farmers in 2024 have actively linked production, developed production, and accumulated production land according to value chains, bringing high economic efficiency. Among them, outstanding farmers in Kien Giang have more than 500 hectares of rice fields.
The 63 outstanding Vietnamese farmers of 2024 were voted as very deserving people.
Many outstanding Vietnamese farmers in 2024 have succeeded with green, environmentally friendly production models following the Party and Government's policies on green economic development, green agriculture, and circularity. In addition, many outstanding farmers in 2024 are also increasingly interested in building and protecting agricultural product brands...
It is expected that in October, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union will organize a series of activities to be proud of Vietnamese Farmers with activities such as the 9th National Farmers' Forum in 2024 with the theme "Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Union - Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development: Listening to farmers speak".
This is the first time the two top leaders of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development have co-chaired a meeting to listen to farmers express their thoughts and aspirations.
Along with that is the ceremony to honor and award titles to 63 outstanding Vietnamese Farmers and commend 63 typical cooperatives and many other activities.
