Cao Bang possesses beautiful natural scenery, unique culinary culture and friendly people. Coming to this highland at the end of the year, visitors will have impressive and memorable experiences.

For example, the hills of bright yellow wild sunflowers, the fragrant maple leaves turning crimson red or the numbing cold but stunningly beautiful of ice... create the irresistible attraction of the year-end tourist season in Cao Bang. Mountains hidden behind the morning mist, winding mountain passes stretching to the clouds, flowers blooming despite the cold, not afraid of rocks. In the hustle and bustle of life, if you need a place to "hide", immerse yourself in nature, slow down, this mountainous region is the ideal destination. Travel to Cao Bang in winter to feel the interweaving of majestic beauty and poetic, lyrical features, enjoy the fresh air and cold wind through each layer of clothing.

To start the journey of discovery, visitors can visit the Pac Bo National Special Relic Site (Ha Quang). Not only is it a historical evidence of Uncle Ho's revolutionary activities, this place also possesses the pure and open natural beauty of the Viet Bac mountains and forests. The emerald green Lenin stream is calm and peaceful in the cold weather; the blue sky drifts with white clouds, dropping a few drops of golden sunlight. The fairy-tale-like space makes visitors feel relaxed and comfortable, letting their minds wander into the scenery.

Winter - the dry season but it does not make the rivers, streams, waterfalls in the border lose their inherent beauty. The blue Quay Son River (Trung Khanh) meanders through the limestone mountains, sometimes with small waterfalls, sometimes as calm as a mirror reflecting the lake surface, at the end it falls down to form the majestic and poetic Ban Gioc waterfall. The winter sunlight embraces the silence of the mountains, forests, and trees, making the natural picture even more charming.

Exploring the heritage site of the Mountain Eye, experiencing overnight camping, having an outdoor barbecue, stargazing... are all great choices. In the dry season, the vast valley at the foot of the mountain becomes a green grassland with horses and cows leisurely grazing...

In the early winter days, tourists tell each other that they must definitely go to Nguyen Binh, go to the top of Phja Oac to “hunt clouds”, experience the feeling of floating like walking in the sky. The higher you go, the more towering the mountains are and the more magical the clouds are next to the old forest. Sometimes you will encounter seas of clouds in the early morning sun, sometimes the clouds wait until the sunset, but sometimes at noon you can also see the immense paradise of clouds.

Looking far away, enjoying the fairyland scenery, breathing in the fresh air is so refreshing, perhaps the long tiring journey has not been wasted. Located at an altitude of 1,931 m above sea level, when the temperature drops below 0 degrees Celsius, the mountain top appears to be covered with ice on the branches and blades of grass. This amazing natural phenomenon attracts many tourists from inside and outside the province to visit, take photos and check in.

Every November and December is the season of blooming wild sunflowers, poinsettias, rapeseed flowers, buckwheat flowers... Although these wild mountain flowers are not proud or splendid, they are still gentle and dreamy, making people flutter. About 75 km from the center of Cao Bang city, following the route to the eastern districts, to the two communes of Thong Nhat and Thi Hoa (Ha Lang), visitors will be able to check in with vast fields of wild sunflowers blooming brightly across the sky. Somewhere in the fields, valleys or hillsides of Quang Hoa and Trung Khanh districts are the pure white and light pink of thousands of beautiful, fragile buckwheat flowers.

Cao Bang is also famous for the season of changing leaves at Ban Viet Lake (Trung Khanh) which is as beautiful as Europe. The colder the weather, the more the leaves of the Sau Sau trees turn bright yellow and red, as vibrant as a temperate maple forest. The tree canopies reflect on the calm lake surface, the quiet space has only the sound of birds chirping, the sound of wind and rustling leaves. The enchanting beauty of this place has become a source of inspiration for many domestic and international painters and photographers.

The end of the year is the time when traditional craft villages become busy and bustling. Tourists can visit the hundred-year-old Bo To palm sugar craft village (Quang Hoa), the Phuc Sen blacksmith village (Quang Hoa) with knives that are said to "cut iron without chipping, cut stone without wearing out", or the Na Keo herbal incense village, the Luong Noi brocade weaving village (Ha Quang)...
