(CLO) The interactive exhibition "Famous battles, talented generals" organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper is a combination of painting and history, of documentary information and modern press technology... bringing profound experiences to the public, especially the young generation, contributing to arousing national pride.
The most condensed essence of history
The interactive exhibition “Famous battles, talented generals” organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper praises the glorious feats of the heroic Vietnam People's Army and honors the talented generals of the “invincible” army.
According to Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Nhan Dan Newspaper has closely coordinated with the Institute of Military History to ensure that information about generals as well as typical battles is conveyed accurately and specifically.
Through visual maps, sounds, and scientifically presented documents, visitors will have an interesting experience and easily grasp information about famous, landmark battles such as the Viet Bac campaign (1947), Dien Bien Phu campaign (1954), Tay Nguyen campaign (1975), Ho Chi Minh campaign (1975)...

In particular, the public will have the opportunity to admire a series of portraits of 20 talented generals of the Vietnam People's Army by artist Do Hoang Tuong using watercolor techniques on paper. The works vividly depict portraits of talented generals such as General Vo Nguyen Giap, General Nguyen Chi Thanh, General Le Trong Tan, General Hoang Van Thai, General Le Duc Anh, etc.
Talking about the process of implementing the Exhibition, Colonel Le Thanh Bai - Deputy Director of the Institute of Military History said that the biggest challenge for the Institute and Nhan Dan Newspaper was selecting typical and outstanding battles and generals to most vividly depict the heroic 80-year history of the Vietnam People's Army.
"We had to carefully select outstanding battles among tens of thousands of battles, generals who left important marks in the development history of the Vietnam People's Army among millions of generations of soldiers," said Colonel Le Thanh Bai.
According to the Colonel, the battles may not be large but they have the nature of a new art of war, a step forward compared to other battles. For example, the Phu Thong battle - a siege battle of our army; the Dien Bien Phu campaign - famous in five continents and shaking the world, or the Mau Than General Offensive and Uprising Campaign in 1968 - defeated the will of invasion of the US imperialists.

Colonel Le Thanh Bai shared that Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Director of the Military History Institute selected 20 generals - they are the embodiment of the quintessence in the development of the Vietnam People's Army and in the cause of defending the Fatherland. Among them are General Vo Nguyen Giap - the eldest brother of the Vietnam People's Army; Lieutenant General Nguyen Binh - Commander of the Dong Trieu war zone, his leadership contributed greatly to the victory of the August Revolution - 1945 in the Northeast Coast. In addition, he also played a very important role in the Southern armed forces, leaving his mark in the establishment of the Saigon Special Forces. Or the scientific general, Professor, Dr. Le Chi Trung - who grew up as a battlefield nurse, then became the head of the medical industry - laying the foundation for Vietnam's organ transplant industry.
According to Colonel Le Thanh Bai, after selecting the battles and generals, the next challenge is to put into the Exhibition the most typical features in the most understandable language, conveying historical knowledge in an attractive way while still capturing the historical essence and the core content of the event.
