During Workers' Month 2024, many exciting and practical activities were organized by the Provincial Industrial Parks (IPs) Trade Union and its affiliated unions to better care for union members and workers.
Comrade Truong Van Tuyen, Chairman of the Trade Union of Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam Company (Gian Khau Industrial Park) said: In response to Workers' Month, in May, the Company's Trade Union organized many practical and meaningful activities for union members. Such as sports and cultural activities; coordinated to give gifts to 30 union members and workers in difficult circumstances, each gift worth 500,000 VND; at the same time, proposed to the business owner to increase the value of meals for workers and implement the model of "3V trade union activities" (for workers, for the trade union organization, for the sustainable development of the enterprise) launched by the higher-level trade union. In addition, we also launched a peak emulation campaign in production labor and actively organized activities to concretize the Resolution of the Trade Union Congress at all levels for the 2023-2028 term.
Together with the Trade Union of Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam Company, many trade unions at the enterprise level in the industrial parks in the province have been actively organizing meaningful activities for union members and workers during the Workers' Month, such as: MCNEX VINA Company Limited's Trade Union organized a tug of war, football, golden bell competition, and gave gifts to union members in difficult circumstances; GREAT GLOBAL INTERNATIONAL Company Limited's Trade Union organized a sports competition with games such as tug of war, sack jumping, and passing the ball; CHIA CHEN Industrial Company Limited's Trade Union organized a gift giving ceremony, worth nearly 15 million VND, to union members in difficult circumstances...
Comrade Dinh The Hung, Chairman of the Provincial Industrial Parks Trade Union, said: Determining May - Workers' Month as the peak period to care for union members and workers, since mid-March, the Provincial Industrial Parks Trade Union has developed a plan and guided grassroots trade unions to organize activities in response to Workers' Month and Labor Safety and Hygiene Month with the goal of focusing on the grassroots, union members and workers.
In particular, focusing on accompanying enterprises to organize many activities so that union members and workers can participate and benefit in many aspects such as: Organizing activities to visit union members in difficult circumstances, serious illnesses, and work-related accidents; organizing dialogues to negotiate and sign new collective labor agreements; promoting the admission of new union members; coordinating with enterprises to organize occupational safety and hygiene training and organizing cultural, sports and legal consulting activities.
Up to now, 8 grassroots trade unions have organized cultural and sports activities and organized tours and vacations for union members and workers, and tens of thousands of gifts have been given by grassroots trade unions to union members and workers in difficult circumstances on the occasion of International Labor Day, May 1; 6 units have negotiated with business owners to increase wages early for workers and increase bonuses for diligence, increase the value of shift meals; 1 grassroots trade union negotiated to sign a new Collective Labor Agreement... The provincial industrial park trade unions have coordinated to give 51 gifts to workers in difficult circumstances and those who had work-related accidents, with a total value of 25.5 million VND; 2 wardrobes of Ao Dai for 2 affiliated grassroots trade unions.
In particular, to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere for workers during the Workers' Month, the Provincial Industrial Parks Trade Union organized a sports tournament for workers in the provincial industrial parks, attracting 51 teams with 450 union members and athletes from 17 enterprise-based trade unions to compete in 3 events: tug of war, sack jumping and passing the ball. At the same time, the pilot model of "3V union activities" was implemented at the grassroots trade unions. These activities demonstrated the sense of responsibility and concern of union officials at all levels in the industrial parks for union members and workers.
Also according to Mr. Dinh The Hung, Chairman of the Provincial Industrial Parks Trade Union: Over many years of organization, the activities in Workers' Month have created a ripple effect in society and are truly meaningful to workers. Thereby, affirming the representative role of the trade union organization for workers as well as contributing to changing the awareness of business owners towards the activities of the trade union organization.
In the coming time, the affiliated grassroots unions will continue to organize activities to care for and protect union members and workers; organize patriotic emulation movements among union members and workers. At the same time, promote the sports movement, contributing to improving cultural and spiritual life, strengthening solidarity and mutual assistance between grassroots unions and workers in industrial parks, creating a strong impression in Workers' Month 2024.
