Many solutions to stimulate consumption during Tet

Domestic consumption demand, one of the important driving forces for economic growth, is still facing many challenges, especially when consumer purchasing power has slowed down after natural disasters. In Quang Ninh, a series of solutions to stimulate consumption at the end of the year are being actively implemented to ensure economic targets set for 2024.

At this time, Tet goods are on the shelves at many supermarkets, shopping malls, and retail stores in the province.

According to the provincial socio-economic report, in November, commercial activities were relatively stable, goods were diverse and abundant to meet consumers' needs. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in 11 months increased by 13.3% over the same period. Of which, retail sales of goods increased by 14%, accommodation and food increased by 25.1%; tourism and travel increased by 20.9%; other service revenue increased by 5.1%. The consumer price index (CPI) in November increased by 2.1% over the same period; CPI in 11 months increased by 3.46% over the same period. Most industry groups increased, in which the commodity group increased highly such as: Food and food services increased by 4.51%; Medicine and medical services increased by 9.97%; Education increased by 14.77%; Culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 4.10%; Other goods and services increased by 6.26%... These are positive results in the context of the economy still facing many challenges, especially after natural disasters, when solutions to restore production in many fields are still in the process of implementation.

To stimulate consumption at the end of the year, the Industry and Trade sector and organizations, businesses and production establishments in the province have proactively and actively implemented many solutions to stimulate consumption from now until Lunar New Year.

Quang Ninh OCOP Fair Fall-Winter 2024 attracts a large number of consumers to visit and shop.

In particular, the Quang Ninh OCOP Fair - Fall-Winter 2024, which took place from December 11-15 at the Mong Cai City Cultural and Communication Center, Hoa Lac Ward, Mong Cai City, is also one of the important annual trade promotion events at the end of the year in Quang Ninh. The Fair has the participation of nearly 200 domestic production and business organizations and individuals; introducing and promoting 1,180 typical, typical products, regional specialties and OCOP products of 42 provinces and cities; along with an exhibition area introducing typical OCOP products of Quang Ninh province. From the business perspective, the Fair is an opportunity for businesses, production establishments, and cooperatives in the province to connect, expand the market, and promote products more widely to the market. This is also an opportunity for units to exchange experiences, receive market feedback to continuously improve product quality, and move towards export.

Ms. Pham Kim Anh, a resident of Mong Cai City, shared: At this fair, the products are very rich, diverse, good quality, reasonable prices. We bought a lot of products from food, consumer goods for our family and relatives.

In addition to the Quang Ninh OCOP Fair - Fall-Winter 2024, from now until the Lunar New Year At Ty, businesses, cooperatives, and production and business establishments in the area have also begun to launch special products for the Tet holiday as well as run promotional programs and deep discounts on products. Mr. Nguyen Duc Manh, Deputy Director of Cai Rong HCM Fish Sauce Joint Stock Company said: At this time, in addition to traditional distribution channels through supermarkets and retail stores, we are also promoting product promotion through e-commerce platforms, integrating programs such as buy 1 get 1 free, giving away gifts for special combos, accumulating points for loyal customers... to increase the attractiveness of products in the market.

At this time, shopping malls, supermarkets, markets, and retail stores across the province are also starting to prepare goods for Tet, and many places have put products on the shelves to serve Tet. To stimulate shopping, many places have also implemented a series of solutions to facilitate customers, such as diversifying shopping channels, both direct and online, free shipping, deep promotions, etc. Currently, the Department of Industry and Trade has also planned to work with large businesses and retailers in the area to lock prices for 100% of goods within 90 days from now until Tet.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Quang Ninh said: At the end of the year, to stimulate consumption, we will continue to have many trade promotion activities, not only domestically but also connecting with foreign markets. We will also organize the annual Spring Fair with the participation of businesses and units in the province as well as other provinces and foreign countries. Before Tet, we will organize price stabilization points of sale in 13/13 localities, ensuring an abundant supply of goods, rich in quality and diverse in prices to serve the consumption needs of the people.

The consumer market in 2024 will also be greatly affected by the general instability of the world consumer market. Solutions to promote consumption from management agencies as well as proactiveness from businesses are expected to promote stronger purchasing power of the market at the end of this year.
