On December 17, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry held a ceremony to receive equipment sponsorship for the PIUS project's electric car model KIT from Japanese agencies and businesses.
Receive equipment and electric car training program from Japan
According to Dr. Phan Hong Hai - Principal, within the framework of the PIUS project (Popularization - Evidence - Commercialization of the training program for engineers and technicians in the automotive industry), the aim of building an electric car training program at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry is implemented by Murakami Shokai Group and sponsored by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The equipment of the project to be handed over includes 2 PIUS electric car models and accompanying equipment to serve teaching activities for the training program expected to be implemented in 3 years. The total value of equipment invested in the project is up to 4.5 billion VND.
"The handover of equipment is an important premise for electric vehicle students to access and practice directly on electric vehicle devices in addition to the equipment and tools at the school's power technology department.
The PIUS project facilities will help the school build and upgrade standard automotive technology laboratories.
The school's lecturers and students have the opportunity to research and study directly on modern equipment, helping to promote thinking and form experimental skills in the field of electric cars.
It is expected that the training program will be taught from the first semester of the 2025-2026 school year," Mr. Hai added.

Students can build electric cars and test drive the cars they have assembled.
According to Mr. Ono Masuo - Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City - Murakami Shokai Group aims to train a highly skilled workforce in Vietnam through a teaching program using the PIUS small electric car model, which the company jointly built with Ichinoseki Vocational High School.
"This human resource training and development program is not only theoretical but also allows students to practice disassembling and assembling the PIUS model, in order to equip them with comprehensive knowledge of necessary skills in the factory such as 5S, Kaizen, safety management rules...", said Mr. Ono Masuo.
Kosen Ichinoseki School together with Murakami Shokai Group and experts will conduct the instructor training program.
In addition, three universities under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (Hanoi University of Industry, Sao Do University and Vietnam - Hungary University) will also participate in the implementation of pilot classes and the operation of the curriculum.
Mr. Shigeto Kikuchi - PIUS project director of Murakami Shokai Group - added: "With the PIUS project, through disassembly and assembly practice, students can learn the basic structure and basic techniques of electric cars... from which they can manufacture products and experience test driving cars that they have assembled themselves.
The assessment will be conducted according to the standard assessment level of JABEE (Japan Engineering Certification Organization).
