Although it is being renovated, Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral is decorated with bright lights and miniatures this year, attracting many young people before Christmas.

For about a week now, the grounds in front of Notre Dame Cathedral in District 1 have been decorated with 60-meter-long strings of yellow lights covering the two bell towers. This is the first time the church has been brightly decorated for Christmas since its restoration in 2017.
Notre Dame Cathedral is located in the Paris Commune Square, built in 1877, completed after 3 years and was conferred the title of Minor Basilica by the Vatican in 1959 (official name is the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception). Every Christmas, this place is splendidly decorated, attracting many people to visit and attend mass.

The Bethlehem Christmas Star stands out prominently between two bell towers illuminated with multi-colored lights.

Inside the church grounds are decorated with a nativity scene and miniature scenes recreating the story of the Nativity.
According to the Bible, the baby Jesus was born and laid in a manger in Bethlehem, Judea (Israel, now Palestine). Mary and Joseph (adoptive father) were present to take care of him. Angels announced that the baby would be the Savior. Jesus came to the world to start a new page in history for all mankind, teaching people to love one another.

Many people come to pray before the statue of Our Lady of Peace.

Passersby also stopped their cars in front of Notre Dame Cathedral to take pictures.
Christmas and Mass at Notre Dame Cathedral will take place on two main days, December 24 and 25, as every year.
