The 7 final events took place on the afternoon of May 8, including the women's 200m final, men's 200m final, men's javelin final, women's triple jump final, women's 5,000m final, men's 1,500m final and the mixed men's and women's 4x400m final. Opening the competition in the afternoon, two athletes Ngan Ngoc Nghia and Tran Thi Nhi Yen brought home two silver medals in the men's 200m and women's 200m races.

In the men's 200m event, despite his best efforts, Ngan Ngoc Nghia could not overcome the naturalized Thai athlete Soraoat Dapbang. In the women's 5,000m event, SEA Games 31 champion Nguyen Thi Oanh raced to the finish line alone, leaving her opponents far behind with a time of 17 minutes 00 seconds 28. The silver medal winner in this event was athlete Pham Thi Hong Le.
With this achievement, Nguyen Thi Oanh successfully defended her SEA Games gold medal in the women's 5,000m event.
