Woman causes chaos at land auction at town hall

On September 20, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of Phu Cat District People's Committee (Binh Dinh Province), confirmed that there was a conflict between people participating in the land auction held at the headquarters of Cat Tien Town People's Committee.

According to a clip that was circulated on Facebook, a woman shouted: "Get out of the way, get out of the way", then grabbed her phone and rushed forward to hit another woman repeatedly in the face, causing the victim to collapse and scream.

Many comments on social networks said that this is an act of violence and needs to be strictly handled according to the law.

According to the Chairman of Phu Cat District People's Committee, this auction was organized by the district borrowing the headquarters of Cat Tien Town People's Committee to organize the auction of 58 land lots in the Residential Area east of Ong Sung Stream (Cat Tien Town), with Phu Cat District People's Committee as the investor.

The unit hired to organize the auction is Dong Duong Joint Stock Auction Company.

"The auction lasted from afternoon until 9:30 pm. Many people, especially from the northern provinces, also participated. However, during the auction, there was a conflict between the bidders. There were police at the auction so they intervened promptly to handle the situation," Mr. Hung informed.

According to the source, the beating incident occurred at a land auction on September 16 at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Cat Tien town. Afterwards, the victim was hospitalized and his relatives went to the Cat Tien town police (Phu Cat district) to work, provide information, and serve to verify the above incident.

Previously, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, issued an official dispatch requesting units and localities to seriously organize and implement the auction of land use rights in accordance with legal regulations.

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan directed that it is necessary to promptly grasp and strictly handle violations of the law in land use rights auctions. Especially acts of collusion to manipulate the market, collude to lower prices, raise prices to create an unhealthy market, not true to reality, and for profit.

The Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee emphasized the need to control auction participants, prevent the situation of soliciting participants, colluding to lower or raise prices, distorting auction results, causing disorder and not complying with regulations at auctions.
