In September 1996, engineer Nguyen Hai Nam started working at Quang Tri Power Company as a technician and then Deputy Manager of the power grid workshop. In May 2003, Mr. Nam took on the position of Deputy Head of the 110kV power grid operation management team - Quang Tri Power Company.

From 2006 to present, after many transfers, the Quang Tri 110kV Power Grid Management Team has returned to the Quang Tri Power Company (PC Quang Tri). Currently, Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam is the Director of Quang Tri High Voltage Power Grid Enterprise, under PC Quang Tri.
Many colleagues commented that Nguyen Hai Nam is a passionate and dedicated person. He is always proactive, not afraid of difficulties or hardships, and contributes to the unit to successfully complete key targets in the management and operation of the power grid in the area.
During his 28 years of work, Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam has spent most of his time working on the 110kV Quang Tri power grid. In addition to 110kV power line and transformer station projects, he has participated in organizing and supervising many projects at different voltage levels.
Typically, long-term construction projects such as: Electrification of Vinh Tu commune (1997); renovation of the 35 kV Dong Ha - Cam Lo line (1998); electrification of A Doi - Pa Tang commune (2001)... to short-term, sudden projects such as handling incidents after the 1999 flood in Trieu Phong district, strengthening incident handling due to storm No. 6 - Xangsane (2006) in Quang Nam province, handling incidents after storm No. 10 - Wutip in Quang Binh province in 2013...
Talking to Cong Thuong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam shared his memories, in October 2013, the Quang Tri Power Grid Management Team was ordered to march to Quang Binh to support colleagues in handling incidents after storm No. 10 (Wutip). In addition to having to quickly restore the power grid to serve the people, we also had a big responsibility which was to ensure timely power supply for the funeral of General Vo Nguyen Giap at Vung Chua - Yen Island.

“ When Typhoon Wutip passed through, the power distribution grid in Quang Binh was severely damaged, causing a power outage in the entire province. Dozens of kilometers of high-voltage and low-voltage power lines had fallen poles, broken wires, broken porcelain, and twisted beams in many locations. Without any hesitation, we came up with a plan to thoroughly handle each location. There were many days when our team worked hard from early morning until late at night, eating lunch right on top of the pole. But when the job was done, everyone had a bright smile, happy because each of us had completed a very meaningful job ,” Nam shared.
Recently, Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam is one of 38 members of the PC Quang Tri shock team to strengthen the construction of the 500kV line 3 in Ha Tinh. With 52 days and nights of "overcoming the sun and rain", his shock team has built a 2-body anchor pole with a height of 84 meters and a weight of more than 320 tons.
“The weather in Ha Tinh is harsh, with harsh sunlight during the day and frequent thunderstorms in the evening, which is very dangerous. However, with the encouragement and support of local people and leaders of units, all assigned tasks were completed excellently and were highly appreciated by leaders ,” Nam shared.
Not long after the business trip to reinforce the construction of circuit 3, when hearing that the northern provinces suffered damage caused by storm No. 3 (YAGI), Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam and his PC Quang Tri colleagues continued their journey to Quang Ninh to support their unit in repairing the power grid system.
Mr. Nam said that the group's plan was to help repair the medium voltage grid system in Uong Bi city. However, after completing the work here, the group will continue to support Quang Yen town for 2 more days, because after the storm, many of the power systems here have collapsed.
“ We brought the construction spirit of the 500kV line 3, “overcoming the sun and rain”, to support the restoration of the power system in Quang Ninh. Therefore, the working spirit of the brothers is “When the work is done, not when the hours are up”, when the work is not finished, we still have to work at night. In response, the affection of the people of Uong Bi city and Quang Yen town in particular and Quang Ninh province in general for the Quang Tri PC team is very dedicated, taking care of every meal, bowl of water, caring for the team like their own family. After many days of supporting the other unit, the power grid system was restored, the brothers themselves were very happy to help the people soon have electricity for daily life, production and business after many days of power outage caused by storm No. 3. The Quang Tri PC shock team excellently completed the assigned tasks in Quang Ninh and was highly appreciated by the leaders of Vietnam Electricity Group ”, Mr. Nam added.

PC Quang Tri leaders said that Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam is very decisive and strong at work, but in daily life he is a very simple, close person, caring about everyone down to the smallest detail. Therefore, in many stages of changing production models, changing work units, people staying and people leaving, he is always steadfast, confident, and secure in his work regardless of any position.
Mr. Le Minh Tuan - Head of General Department - Quang Tri High Voltage Grid Enterprise said that Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam is a dedicated person in his work, sharing the hardships with his colleagues, sharing the family circumstances of the workers and creating the best conditions for them to complete their tasks. He is a very thoughtful person, so his colleagues love and trust him very much. He is truly a spiritual support, an elder brother in the unit.
Sharing about himself, Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam said that he is a person in the electricity industry, his greatest wish is to contribute his best to the electricity industry, to ensure the safe operation of the national power grid system in Quang Tri province, thereby contributing his small efforts to the growing development of the Quang Tri electricity industry.
In any position, Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam always excellently completed the assigned tasks. In recognition of those contributions and dedication, PC Quang Tri and the Central Power Corporation, the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises... awarded Mr. Nam many certificates of merit.
