(HNMO) - On the evening of June 12, according to news from the Central Endocrinology Hospital, a male patient from Hanoi was admitted to the hospital due to using bee stings to treat an illness.
Accordingly, male patient NTH (49 years old, in Dong Anh district, Hanoi) has a history of type 2 diabetes with multiple complications and difficulty walking. About a month ago, the patient was advised to use bee stings to treat pain. The patient's family invited a traditional healer to use bee stings to help relieve pain in his limbs. However, the pain in his limbs and difficulty walking did not improve.
Recently, the patient felt tired and had difficulty breathing, so he went to the Central Endocrinology Hospital for a check-up. Doctors immediately asked the patient to be hospitalized because in addition to high blood sugar, the patient also had a skin infection.
Doctors say that with diabetes, the patient's bee sting wounds are at risk of infection and even necrosis.
Doctors recommend that patients should not arbitrarily treat symptoms with negative measures that are not scientifically proven. When suffering from diabetes, patients need to comply with treatment to manage blood sugar well and limit complications.
