YONHAP. ​​South Korea's Financial Services Commission has temporarily banned short selling of stocks until early July 2024, aiming to prevent illegal short selling activities by global investment banks.

STRAITS TIMES. Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said he will hand over leadership to Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong before the next general election, which must be held by November 2025.

BANGKOK POST. Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara has been appointed to head a new government committee to promote economic and investment stimulus and attract high-potential foreign investment.

THE STAR. During his visit to India from November 6-7, Malaysian Foreign Minister Zambry Abdul Kadir will co-chair the Joint Commission meeting with his counterpart S. Jaishankar.

KATHMANDU POST. Thirty-six hours after a 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck the mountains of western Nepal , killing at least 157 people, the search and rescue operation ended on November 5.

PTI. Primary schools in India's capital New Delhi are closed until November 10 due to high air pollution.

MINT. In a phone call with his Israeli counterpart Eli Cohen, Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar reaffirmed his commitment to the fight against terrorism, adherence to international humanitarian law and the two-state solution.

AL ARABIYA. Speaking to reporters during a visit to Qatar, French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna called for an "immediate humanitarian ceasefire" in the Gaza Strip.

AP. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in the Israeli-occupied West Bank to meet with Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas in the city of Ramallah.

NEW ARAB. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will meet with host country President Tayip Erdogan in the capital Ankara today, November 6, in an effort to mend relations between Turkey and Israel.

EURO NEWS. The President of the European Central Bank (ECB) believes that it is entirely possible to bring inflation below the 2% target by 2025.

ASHARQ AL AWSAT. Turkey's main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) elected Ozgur Ozel as its new leader, ending Kemal Kilicdaroglu's 13-year term.

ANADOLU. The Turkish military carried out airstrikes in northern Iraq and destroyed 15 Kurdish rebel targets , saying many rebels were "neutralized" in the attack.

DW. German police announced that they have arrested a man and rescued a girl who is the child of the suspect in the hostage situation at Hamburg airport.

ANSA. A fishing boat carrying 531 migrants arrives at the island of Lampedusa after being rescued and escorted by the Italian coast guard.

FRANCE 24. The changing of the guard ceremony at the Elysee Palace, the residence of the French President, will be held again after a 27-year hiatus.

RUSSIA-1. The press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, said that although the relationship between Russia and the US is at zero, the two countries need to resume dialogue over time.

TASS. This year, the Russian economy may grow by 2.8% after shrinking by about 2% last year, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said.

REUTERS. Greece's state gas company DEPA Emporias is in talks with Russia's Gazprom over prices and terms for natural gas supplies through 2024.

BELTA. The Belarusian Foreign Ministry summoned the Polish Charge d'Affaires Martin Wojciechowski after claiming that a plane from Poland had violated the Belarusian state border.

AFP. “There is no such thing and there will be no such thing,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ruled out the possibility of launching peace talks with Russia, during a press conference in Kiev with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

America

CNN. US officials are making every effort to free the hostages currently being held by Hamas in Gaza, but there is no guarantee of success or a specific time frame.

REUTERS. Honduras has become the latest Latin American country to recall its ambassador to Israel for consultations over the “grave humanitarian situation” facing Palestinians in Gaza.

AFRICA NEWS. According to the final list from the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), the Democratic Republic of Congo officially registered 26 presidential candidates for the December 20 election.

AP. Security in Guinea's capital Conakry has been tightened after a group of gunmen stormed a central prison and took out former President Moussa Dadis Camara, who was being held there.

AFRICA NEWS. More than 20 people have been killed and more than 12,000 families have been displaced in Ethiopia's Somali region due to massive flooding following prolonged heavy rains.

REUTERS. Seven more troops from the UN peacekeeping mission in Mali (MINUSMA) were injured while withdrawing from the country when their convoy hit an improvised explosive device (IED).

Oceania

AFP. Building relations through dialogue and cooperation is in the interests of both Australia and China, Mr. Anthony Albanese declared during his first visit to China as Australian Prime Minister.
