Brazilian Communist Party President Luciana Santos expressed her admiration for President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam's diplomatic policy, which is both flexible and resilient like bamboo.

"This has strongly inspired the Brazilian Communist Party, the progressive and peace-loving forces of Brazil and the Latin American region," said Ms. Luciana Santos when meeting Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on the afternoon of September 24 (early morning of September 25, Hanoi time) in the capital Brasilia.

The President of the Brazilian Communist Party highlighted Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Brazil, as this is the first visit by a senior leader of the two countries in 15 years, towards the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Brazil diplomatic relations.

Ms. Santos highly appreciated the correct guidelines and comprehensive achievements in socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, promoting foreign affairs and integration that the Vietnamese people have achieved under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Vietnam also implements a "four no's" defense policy: not participating in military alliances; not aligning with one country to fight another; not allowing foreign countries to set up military bases or use Vietnamese territory to fight against other countries; not using force or threatening to use force in international relations.

The Prime Minister said that Vietnam always appreciates and is grateful for the good sentiments, support and assistance that the Brazilian people, the Brazilian Communist Party and other left-wing, progressive and peace-loving forces have given to the Vietnamese people. He hoped that Ms. Santos, who is also Brazil's Minister of Science and Technology, would continue to support and promote cooperation with Vietnam.

On the same afternoon, the Prime Minister received Mr. Pedro de Olivera, Secretary General of the Brazil-Vietnam Friendship Association. The government leader thanked the Brazilian people for their solidarity and support for Vietnam during the struggle for national liberation and reunification, as well as in the current construction and development.
