PhD specializes in 'catching trends' to... inspire young people

During the talk, inspiring 12th grade students before the important exam in Hue City, Dr. Nguyen Anh Dan, lecturer at the University of Education - Hue University, 'touched' the hearts of many young people thanks to his close, engaging and 'trendy' way of talking.

"That's great, have you chosen a school yet, beauties?", that's how Dr. Nguyen Anh Dan, lecturer at the University of Education - Hue University, started his inspirational conversation yesterday afternoon, March 1, with 12th grade students participating in the 2025 Exam Consulting program organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper in collaboration with a number of units in Hue City.

Dr. Nguyen Anh Dan started the conversation with humorous "trendy" statements.

Quickly "catching the trend" and using the sayings that are "making waves" on social networks, Dr. Nguyen Anh Dan quickly heated up Hai Ba Trung High School's yard, getting closer to young people.

After laughter and applause, Dr. Nguyen Anh Dan began the main part of inspiring students with his own life story.

Teacher Dan said that when he was a child, he was born into a poor family. After the university entrance exam, he achieved quite high scores and was admitted to many prestigious schools. But the door he chose was the University of Education - Hue University, not only because of his passion but also because the school did not charge tuition fees, which was suitable for his circumstances at that time.

Graduating from the Faculty of Literature, Hue University of Education with an excellent degree, the young student was retained as a lecturer. In 2015, he received a scholarship from the Agreement between the two governments of Vietnam and China and studied for a doctorate at the Institute of Literature, Central China Normal University (China). In 2021, Mr. Dan completed his doctoral program and returned to continue teaching and researching at the Faculty of Literature, Hue University of Education.

"At that time, I thought to myself, because of my circumstances, I should study pedagogy without paying tuition, while I was admitted directly to famous schools in Ho Chi Minh City. Although I really liked it, I regretfully did not choose it. At first, I felt it was not suitable, but then I stood here, as a lecturer at the University of Education - Hue University, thanks to the "fate" 20 years ago with the pedagogy industry. Currently, I am having a quite happy life," Dr. Dan proudly said.

Telling this story, Mr. Dan said: "Young people must be responsible for their choices in the future."

Continuing the conversation with very humorous content, Mr. Dan said: "I really like to tear off the calendar, because in the calendars of that time there were always very good proverbs. And I like the sentence "The cause of most failures is lack of confidence". These words enlightened me, so I decided to be confident to change my fate, because my family was very poor".

Dr. Nguyen Anh Dan's sharing has "touched" the hearts of many young people.

What should students do to confidently enter the exam? According to Mr. Dan, it is not about standing in front of the mirror and saying "I am confident". The first thing to do is to review thoroughly, grasp the knowledge; study the reference questions carefully and most importantly, do not learn by rote.

"To have a "peak exam", the secret to confidence is to practice breathing, inhale and exhale and count, then exhale for about 5 minutes, you will have enough energy and calmness... Confidence is an important key. Having enough energy to enter the exam, in addition to studying well, you also need to maintain your health by eating well and sleeping well. I wish you all "a top 8386 exam forever", said Mr. Dan.

"My wish is to take the entrance exam to the University of Education, so I came to you to learn more about the majors I am interested in, to get a more certain answer. After the conversation, I feel very lucky to have met you today. Now I have more information and am quite clear in choosing my wish", Khanh Chi (grade 12 student of Huong Vinh High School, Hue City) shared.

Dr. Nguyen Anh Dan is known to young people as an inspirational speaker for a positive and beautiful life. He has had more than 100 meetings and conversations with Gen Z across the country. His humorous and "trendy" stories have "touched" the hearts of many young people.

This afternoon, March 2, at Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted (Dong Hoi City, Quang Binh), Dr. Nguyen Anh Dan continued to accompany the 2025 Exam Season Consulting program organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper to continue to exchange, inspire, share experiences as well as spread positive energy to 12th grade students at an important turning point in their lives.
