Recognizing the importance of stage arts, in 2011, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 13/QD-TTg, taking the 12th day of the 8th lunar month as Vietnam Stage Day. Since then, the death anniversary of the stage profession has also become a festival to honor the country's stage.
This day is also the traditional day of those who work in the performing arts. This is an opportunity for artists to remember and express their gratitude to their predecessors who created a unique and valuable form of theater, enriching the national cultural identity; encouraging artists in the theater field to promote the fine traditional values of Vietnamese theater, striving to create many meaningful theatrical works and theater activities to serve the public, especially in remote areas.
The participating artists all expressed their emotions in the context of Ho Chi Minh City continuing to comprehensively innovate, and increasingly strong international cultural exchanges and integration. Currently, with the explosion of information technology, the diversity and attractiveness of communication methods, performing arts in general, and theater arts in particular, will continue to accompany many other fields to actively contribute to the construction and development of Ho Chi Minh City's cultural industry.
People's Artist Huu Danh shared that the road ahead is still very long and may have many difficulties, such as the opera industry - where he has been attached all his life, so fellow artists must continue to overcome all challenges, nurturing the next generation of talented actors.
