Secondary school students who win national and international prizes are admitted directly to public grade 10.

The People's Committee of Quang Tri province has just approved the Admission Plan for the first grades of the 2025-2026 school year, which stipulates that junior high school students who win national and international prizes will be admitted directly to public grade 10.

Specifically, the admission method for grade 10 public schools will combine entrance exams with selection. The number of students entering schools is based on the enrollment quota for the 2025-2026 school year of the Department of Education and Training.

Admission subjects are students in the whole province who have graduated from secondary school according to the general education program or the regular education program.

Secondary school students who win national and international prizes are admitted directly to public grade 10.

Students must be of the age specified in the regulations of junior high schools, high schools and multi-level general schools; have valid documents; and not be under criminal prosecution or disciplinary prohibition from participating in the exam.

For public grade 10 admission, according to regulations, students who are directly admitted are junior high school students who have won national prizes organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or in coordination with ministries and ministerial-level agencies organized nationwide for competitions, exams, and contests (collectively referred to as contests) on culture, arts, sports; and scientific and technical research competitions.

Secondary school students who have won prizes in international competitions are selected by the Minister of Education and Training. Secondary school students who are ethnic minority boarding students; students from very small ethnic minorities; and students with disabilities are also eligible for direct admission.

In addition, secondary school students who are children of families with preferential policies; students who win provincial-level prizes organized by the Department of Education and Training or in coordination with departments and branches organized on a provincial scale for competitions organized at the national level will receive additional incentive points according to regulations.

Candidates will register for admission online. Next, candidates will go through 2 rounds, take the exam and register their wishes to attend schools. The exam is expected to be held before June 5, 2025, including 3 subjects: Math, Literature, English.

Literature is tested in essay format. Math is tested in essay format combined with multiple choice. English is tested in essay format combined with multiple choice, including 3 skills: listening, reading, writing.

After the exam results are available, students can register their admission wishes to public high schools. Each candidate can only register 1 wish to public high school.

For Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, recruiting specialized classes: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Literature, History - Geography. Each class has 32 students.

For English, there are 2 classes (English 1 and English 2), each class has 30 students. Candidates take 3 general subjects (Math, Literature, English) and 1 specialized subject according to their registered wishes. If candidates register for Literature, Math or English, they must take 2 exams for each subject (1 general subject exam and 1 specialized subject exam).

Specialized subjects are tested in essay format. In particular, Information Technology is tested in computer programming format; English is tested in essay format combined with multiple choice, including 4 skills: listening, reading, writing, speaking.

Admission to grade 10 of the provincial boarding school for ethnic minorities is also carried out by combining entrance exams with selection. The admission targets are ethnic minority candidates. The Department of Education and Training also stipulates the subjects eligible for direct admission, priority and encouragement.

For admission to grade 1, grade 6, grade 6 boarding ethnic minority schools, and grade 6 semi-boarding ethnic minority schools, admission is based on the criteria for completing the program according to the level of study.

Enrollment in the first grades of the 2025-2026 school year is expected to be completed before July 31, 2025.
