The above information was announced by Mr. Pham Hong Quang - Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Nghe An province at the regular meeting of the People's Committee of Nghe An province held on December 25.
Mr. Quang said that in 2024, Nghe An's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth rate is estimated at 9.01%, ranking 13th in the country. State budget revenue is estimated at VND 24,797 billion, an increase of 15.3% compared to 2023.
Total export turnover is estimated at 3.7 billion USD, of which goods export turnover is estimated at 3.215 billion USD.
Investment attraction continues to be a bright spot, with the total newly granted and increased investment capital reaching over VND61,488 billion; of which FDI capital is expected to reach nearly USD1.7 billion, the highest ever, in the top 10 nationwide.
This is the third consecutive year that Nghe An has ranked in the top 10 nationwide in attracting foreign investment capital.
Mr. Bui Thanh An - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee said that in recent years, the province has been making efforts to synchronously implement solutions to build a reliable and effective destination for foreign investors.
Currently, Nghe An is one of the few provinces in the country that is currently attracting investment from five of the world’s technology giants: Foxconn, Luxshare, Goertek, Everwin and Juteng. These businesses have poured more than 1.3 billion USD into the province, expected to create more than 86,000 jobs.
“To do this, Nghe An has set out a strategic direction for selecting FDI capital flows, prioritizing high-quality capital flows, projects aiming for green growth and sustainable development.
In investment promotion, the province focuses on partners and targeted fields; with a focused implementation direction, not spread out, thoroughly integrated into foreign affairs, trade and tourism promotion activities," said Mr. An.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province - also requested all levels, sectors and localities to continue promoting administrative reform, especially administrative procedure reform, implementing digital transformation to improve the investment and business environment, creating favorable conditions for people, businesses and investors.
Continue to promote discipline and administrative order, strictly handle officials who have public opinions and behaviors that cause difficulties and troubles for people and businesses.
Recently, the Prime Minister approved the provincial planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, adding more industrial parks and industrial clusters and identifying the Southeast Economic Zone as one of the province's growth drivers.
It is expected that by 2025, Nghe An province will ensure that it has enough land and clean ground with about 1,500 hectares to attract investment.
